Default Broke my Crank..

..so what are some opinions on a rebuilt for a street/strip(mostly street) DD?
Do I just replace the crank, bearings and connecting rods (thats what was damaged) and do a heads and cam package?..

...or stroke the car, heads and cam?

what do you guys recomend, if you can, fill me on some of the set-ups you are running?

Me you go from scratch get either a 408 or an LS3 block the crank is where it starts, and usually it ends at the heads.

The crank, 2 connecting rods have damage..the block and everything else is fine.

I would like to build a motor to net me ~450rwhp.

I think your title is missleading.

Broke for me is "Snapped"

Damaged journals due to bearing failure is "Spun"

Anyways, If/When this motor goes, I cannot for any reason understand why people would want to put a motor back in of stock stroke/crank (unless its Super Stock class racing.... or MAYBE a high rev turbo set up). At MINIMUM make it a 383 if the block is good, or look for a LS2 block and make it a 402.

didn't spray the car, had problems with the clutch master cylinder at a street car shootout, when I shift hard, the clutch didn't work so I was power shifting the car (maybe 5 to 6 runs). Thats the only cause I can think of, because after this day the car seemed to be lacking power, and had developed a vibration.

so I had the top end of the motor checked, everthing was fine, so took it to the dyno, where it broke the crank.

You can see that it had been cracked for awhile, small area was jagged and seemed to have an oil stain (oil soaked), then the was a clean brake from there of bare metal

You can do stock bottom end and make that kind of power. I say do a 408 iron block to save some money and then do a 240 size cam with some decent heads and you will def be where you want to be. What intake do you have?
