Chittering sound coming from rear

Chittering sound coming from rear I just started noticing a chittering sound that sounds somewhat like a choir of crickets chirping in unison, one right after another. It doesn't matter if I'm in gear or not in gear, if I rev it up higher, the louder the noise gets.
Is my diff shot or something? I do like to whip it around turns and spin the tires once in a while....

Well the god forsaken sound disappeared but now it's back.
