Default Question about Drag setup on C5Z

I did a search and didnt really find my answer. Im looking to buy a drag pack setup for my C5Z. Wanted to know my different option, minus the CCW drag Pak or the GTO spairs. Cant I order some type of weld or something in a 17" for the front and a 16" for the rear. I already have the stock 16x8 camaro wheels, but Im looking for something that looks nice and also lightweight.

Thanks in Advance...

JASON

Something about going 140+ on spare wheels scares me!!! I mean, cant I buy wheels in the same sizes and backspacing as the CCW drag paks? Maybe like the Billet Specialties Street Lite's or Welds or something?

used drag paks can be had for $1700 or so,they work, they are safe and worth every penny.I am the cheapest corvette owner around and I am on my second set of CCWs(sold one to a friend) There is nearly 8/10 from DRs to DP on our cars, you will LOVE them.

CCW's or Bogarts are the only way to go... anyway you don't want 17,s on the front and 16's on the rear unless you raise the rear up so you have some sort of rake, front down..

I don't know if Bogart is making a front that is larger than 15 which requires changing your brakes either to a drag brake or c5 fronts.

I have Bogarts on my and have had the CCW. Bogart might be a little lighter

Tire diameter determines rake, not wheel diameter. 17s in the front may be needed to clear bigger brakes. 16" in back allow for more tire sidewall and tire flex at launch, this is a good thing. I run a 16" CCW pkg.

I was just searching the auction site yesterday looking for a 17" drag wheels.

There is a company selling a set of 17x8 and 17x4.5 for about $600 new.

I think they were Weld Wheels.

Yes I know about the size, 16's will fit the front brakes.. as long as the size ie.. is about the same your ok, 26-11.50x16 = 26.4 give or take. Just make sure the 17's are smaller or close that... that's all i'm saying...

I dont know if the back spacing is correct for the vette - here is the description of the wheels

2 - 17X4.5 GREG WELD MOTORSPORTS 93 SERIES PROLITES

5X4.5/5X4.75

2.25" BACKSPACING

&

2 - 17X8 GREG WELD MOTORSPORTS 93 SERIES PROLITES

5X4.5/5X4.75

4.5" BACKSPACING

Search the auction site...

17' bogarts up front clear stock calipers on my vette. 16" on rear need the balljoint cap persuasion process hammer and or grinder

I really wish the rears were 16" though. Can anyone verify if that would be the correct size for the fronts? Does anyone know the specs on a CCW drag Pack?
