Gen 5 Camaro Internal Engine Tech - 2010 camaro vs 2010 mustang

I didn't see both cars in real ...but from pics I say the mustang looks better than the camaro ... I mean the shape (exterior and interior),not the performance ... many of you have seen them and judged ..

camaro hands down

Really?

i'm sick of seeing the camaro. props on the performance, but god they made the front end ugly.

Camaro wins. I've seen both in person.

I like the new mustang over the older 05-09 mustang but then again I don't. Something just bothers me about it and I'm not sure what.

I might have to give the mustang the looks on the interior but I think they nailed it on the exterior of the camaro. I saw a black ss yesterday like the one you posted. couldnt stop staring.

I like both, but I also think the rear end on both cars looks horrible. That alone would prevent me from buying one or the other.

2010 Mustang definitely is eye catching going down the road. I think the interior is also better than the Camaro. That being said, I think the Camaro looks a lot better on the outside. It looks much more aggressive on the street.

The front looks nice on the Mustang, but the back end looks like it bit into a lemon. Just too ugly. The new front end combined with the previous backend would have been a good combination. Either way, they're slow and Camaro wins!

I think this may be the wrong forum for this question.

I like the mustang but i see to many chicks driving yellow v6's and that turns me off to the whole car.

The new Camaro doesnt shock me with that "new" feel. It feels like its been out for years because of the 3+ year hype on it. So with that said, the Mustang definatly has my attention more so when I see both on the road. I think color is a huge factor. The Silver Camaro bores me and so does the Red Mustang. But each in black... gotta give it to the Mustang. The Camaros front grill has always bugged me.

I might have to give the mustang the looks on the interior .

INSIDE
Mustang wins on the inside. Its dash is intricate and fun. Sports car looking. The Camaro dash is very plain and weird looking. Reminds me of a cargo van.


OUTSIDE
Camaro hands down. It has tons of attitude and classic car shape. The Mustang looks too simple like they intended to keep cost down or lack of ideas so they just make something bland. It doesn't have a character.

Camaro, but I'm bias. I know it gets more looks than the mustang(from women):swing:

I love the front, side, rear and interior of the Camaro. The Stang is played out and the exterior is hardly an update.

You do understand that the 2010 Mustangs were just a refreshed '05 S197 Mustang right? There's not supposed to be huge changes in when a program is refreshed.

Exactly, but updates are nice and this one for the Mustang was a good one IMO. Next generation models tho, thats where it gets interesting.

I like both cars actually. I think the Mustang's interior looks nicer. I'm not a big fan of the radio/climate control on the Camaro. The new Mustang's rear end reminds me of a Hyundai.

If the Stang was faster, I would probably buy one of those over a Camaro.

Yes i'm aware, I just don't find the changes very appealing. I found the previous body work more appealing. I guess we shall see when the 5.0 comes out how the stang looks.

Heres the rear I think it looks good.

my GF has an 09 grabber orange GT with a glass roof. stunning car. much nicer looking that my 00 camaro inside and out.

i loved the camaro since the first time ive seen it...3 or 4 years ago. when it was finally released it wasnt new to me anymore. but every time i see one on the street or parked in someones driveway it makes my heard beat a little faster. interior is cool and modern looking, feels good but it just looks like theres something missing.

i would say the front of the new V6 camaro w/ pony package looks a lot better than the new GT front end. the back looks aweful with that big plastic looking diaper. that'll probably be the first thing they change about the car. interior is amazing though and looks much more complete than the camaro's.

im gonna be a jackass and say i like both...once that new 5.0 coyote engine comes out though the scales may tip in favour of the mustang

Its the Mustang for me but only the GT500 is the one I plan to own someday. I have owned 3-69's, 3-3rd Gens and a 4th Gen but the new 5th Gen does nothing for me. When I see a Challenger SRT8, RT or GT500 my thumb goes up automatically, the added $'s for them are worth it for the looks alone if you ask me.

I have seen the V6 RS, SS, and SS/RS in person as well as a 2010 Mustang GT and of course the Challenger RTs and SRT8s.

Camaro gets the win hands down. I strain my neck everytime I see the car rolling down the road. Mustangs are far too common - like civics and cobalts, etc and the Camaro has much more "presence" when seen in person. As for the Challenger, I test drove an RT, and they look decent on the outside (FYI, I am not a Dodge fan at all!), but the interior is about 5+ years behind.

Rear end opinions - Dodge is nice, 2010 Mustang is all WRONG, and the 5th gen Camaro did not look good in pictures but I like it in person. I believe you really need to see each car in person and even side by side to form a valuable opinion here.

I agree! The interior of the mustang is 10X better than the camaro, but the exterior styling and performance goes to the camaro.

i like the Professional advertising shots, compared to the crap ameteur shots with the dirty hat. LOLZ at the comparison hahaha

Surely you jest. I own an 05 GT :D I'm just saying that you can pretty much predict what most ppl on this site will say on this poll.......simply because you're putting a Mustang up against a Camaro (doesn't matter what the category of comparison is). Bias is sure to rear its head. But hey, some guys in this thread actually gave the 2010 Stang some props, so I guess it's not all one sided here at the Tech. ;)

i like the v6 body more for some reason, mustnag has never done anyhting for me, not the new ones or the old ones. if i won or somebody gave me a v8mustang. i would sell it and collect the rest of the funds to buy a 2010 camaro or even a v6:)

Both cars are pretty nice lookin actually. Ive seen some black 2010 GT's with the stock gun metal looking rims and I broke neck. Id say the stang performs pretty good for only having 315hp too. This is kind of off topic to but I think GM is doing a horrible job with the Camaros availability. Where I live there is a chevy and ford dealership within minutes of each other, I drive past the chevy dealership and see one vette and a ton of malibus and so on. I drive past the ford dealership and it almost looks like some one ripped open a giant bag of mustangs in the front of the ford dealership.

That, and also, no Camaros on the lots but Mustangs on the lots just points to the fact that all the Camaros are selling and the Stangs are not ;)

Someone who's jonesin' real bad for a new Camaro isn't going to find any solace in the fact that Ford has plenty of Mustangs on their lots. Only the fanboys care about who is outselling who. especially in the headlights (I did not like the "droopy eyelid" look). I'd probably go Mustang for the front end.

the rear end- the taillights on the stang are weird. The angle thing is not necessarily bad but something's wrong there, imho- not sure what. But the camaro's rear, esp. with those randomly tacked-on reverse lights, gets no prize either, although I do like the shape and treatment of the main lights.

interior- haven't sat in either.

my verdict: mustang by 0.5.

Yeah this is what I meant I know the Camaros are selling really good. But Ive seen more 2010 mustangs then the new Camaros. A guy in my unit has been driving to every Chevy dealership looking for a Camaro, he gave up and bought a mustang. Im just saying that the Camaro should be available more.

-100 for the giant Silverado 1500 sized bowtie they put on the grill of the 2010. That would be the FIRST thing to go if I had one.

I think the camaro looks alot nicer, but i also get to build them everyday so I do get sick of looking at them lol! Love what they did with it, but i've always been a chevy guy

No comparison. The Camaro looks tons better than the Mustang.

The mustang interior has def stepped it up from previous years. But the back of the new mustangs looks plasticy and rounded off to look more like a girl car imo.

All im saying is that in 05 when the Mustang hit it had the same problems the Camaro is having, supply and demand. The Camaros have the got to have it factor for them right now....hence price hikes and short on stock availability. Rules of the game.

Camaro's exterior is MUCH better than the Mustangs in this year model war. The front end of the Mustang is good. I would go as far to say Mustang would win both if it wasn't for the completely UGLY rear end on the new '10 model year.

BUT, as far as interior the Mustang wins hands down. GM put up a good fight but it honestly feels like its just a "bigger" feeling Cobalt interior whereas the Mustang's feels very unique to the car and screams heritage everywhere you look at the dash.
