so tonight i was cleaning out my glove box because there is a lot of paper in there. mainly receipts from services done and what not and some stuff the previous owner gave me like the build sheet and owners manual/registration holder.

anyway, i went through some of the papers to see what i could get rid of that didn't really need to be there like some old car wash receipts and some minor repair recepts (found one from when i had a hose changed in 2005 for $52)

anyway one thing i did find which i did not pitch because it was kind of cool was an oil change receipt from cutter pontiac GMC in hawaii when the car had 3194 miles on it when serviced on Mar. 24, 1995 and was originally sold Dec. 24, 1994 with 9 miles on it (got the sale mileage from carfax although it shows a sale date of 12/15)

what kind of cool things have you found in the glove box of your car. FWIW i've had the car for 5.5 years but i guess i never noticed that receipt in there before.

Never found anything particularly noteworthy in the glove box, but once, when we were out Jeeping, we found someones ashes. Not their campfire ashes. Their ashes. As in cremated. It was sort of cool and creepie at the same time.

I my last two project cars, 70 Lemans and 80 Trans Am, I have found a pair of aviators, some sort of health insurance receipt and an ad for performance headers in each car. I thought it was weird that both cars had the same things in them. Also we use to live out in bumfuck nowhere Anderson Texas, like 120 miles from here. Well, my step dad found a Neon on Craigslist for $500 and bought it somewhere in Houston. My mom was looking through the car and found a picture of a kid and on the Back it had someones name on there, it was one of my friends brothers from elementary school! We left when I was in 4th grade.. It was sooo weird plus the previous owners were Black, but I guess they could have bought it from them years ago.

I found the window sticker and it made feel like I had a brand new car. Also found some interesting thing on it like the car came with the factory chrome wheels but when I bought it, it was on alloys, felt real disappointed after that

In my 1991 Cadillac Brougham I found an AARP card under the pass seat. It belonged to the original old geezer owner, has his address on it. I know he is dead now, the car went to his son who had it for a few years, then he sold it to the guy I bought it from, who only had it for a few months.

I've been meaning to send a letter to that Terrie Haute Indiana address, see if the house is still in the family. See if I can't get some more history on the car and maybe find all the paperwork/repair receipts.

Seriously.

I have my insurance and registration and sometimes a microfiber towel to wipe things down, other then that I have no clutter in my car at all. I can't believe people have stuff from 4 years ago.

I store insurance card/registration in there, gas record book (why I don't know, just a habit I picked up from my parents I guess), and a tire pressure gauge. When I got the car I found some directions to somewhere in cleveland, a random set of notes, old gas receipt, and some other crap.

I found random pennies scattered throughout the car too.

Right now I just keep my insurance, the original booklet thing that came with my car, tire pressure gauge, a few napkins and $20 just in case. All neatly arranged. In the console I have my GPS, a rag for fogged windows and the two spark plugs to replace the two I can't reach lol.. I keep my car clean, I vaccum it nearly once a week. I can't stand filth in my car, a dirty car doesn't impress the ladies either. I told my friends they couldn't ride in my car anymore because they would track soooooooo much dirt inside and I got tired of scraping the mud out of the carpet..

oh my car is clean too. there is nothing on the floors or in plain site. this was just a bunch of repair receipts in my glove compartment. some of the stuff i keep in there because its cool to show people at car shows, like the letter from the dealership to the original owner that starts with the line "aloha, congradulations on your new car" it's kind of cool knowing the car was originally sold in Hawaii.

Had that in my old car but over time it made the door sag a little because of the weight and only having the a latch to hold it up on one side.

As of now my center console is empty and the glovebox has registration, insurance, notepad, and pen.

Really? My center console was loaded with crap. I had gas receipts since I owned the car, a bunch of friends lighters, phones, it was full.

Glovebox, not center console. It could always just be one of those things I noticed way after it happened and found something to blame it on, but that's my theory at least.
