Default Please help me launch this c5!?

OK so my best time stock was a 8.9 with a 2.1 60 foot at 84MPH. The car is a 97 c5 automatic.

Last week, I lowered the car, modified exhaust, and did the zip tie mod.

The tires are Nitto 555 Extreme ZR STreet Radials. After modding the car, my best 60foot was a 2.3! I lowered the tire pressure to 30psi (for some reason they were at 39) I ran a 60 foot of 2.5 and 2.6!!! I think I may have been shifting into 2nd while spinning then bogging down. I lowered tire pressure 2 25 but didnt get to run after that since there was a wreck and we were leaving so I just left. I was trying leaving from idle and flooring it, stalling it up to about 1200. I have no idea how to get a 2.0 60ft , what am I doing wrong? I plan on getting drag radials but until then I would like to improve if possible. Would the 25psi helped?

Oh and my best run after mods was 8.891 at 84 with 2.3 60ft. Thanks in advance guys! Im going to pageland 2nite and would like to gety a 2.0 or a 1.9 if possible.

There is all sorts of wrong going on there..... To be honest, find a pair of bias plys and a rim that fits for a c5 and fiddle with the launch.

You could go down on tire psi but maybe the give will help with wheel hop.

Whats the gear in the rear, and what rpm do you go?

Instead of stabbing the throttle, think of it as a smooth but direct movement of your foot to the floor. Takes some getting used to, but it should help a little.
