Default how much will the Koni adjustable shocks lower the car

I have a 01 SS

i want to lower the front a bit , not the back i need the clearence for the 295/45/R27's D/R's ill be ridding on

ok i been hearing that the koni adjustables have a different perch locatition and will lower the car a bit, But how much?

also i hear the 1LE springs will lower the car a bit too, i need to lower the front about 3/4 -1" max , and i didnt want to go with a higher rate stiffer lowering spring , the car is used for some street draging, crusing , not road course racing or anything like that

let me know what you think, thank you for your help

yes the koni's do have a lower spring perch setting but it is not recommended to use... ive heard the lower spring perch lessens the life of the shock and ive heard that it can also void the warranty... if you want it lowered then get lowering springs.

The lower perch setting on the Koni SA's was meant for stock ride height springs(not lowering springs), it lowers right about 3/4".

I was going to say 1/2" to 3/4" lowering of ride height. I had a set on the car with stock springs, best thing I ever did for the car. Made a night and day difference in regards to handling.

Also, what type of wheel/tire combo are you running? I'm sure 295/45/R27 was a typo.

in the back MT D/R 295/45/R17

in the front BF 275/40/17 on fiske 17X9 front amd 10.5 back

so 1/2 to 3/4 inch lower would be pretty good , if i use the koni lower perch setting on stock springs would this hurt the shock???

also i been hearing the SLP level 2 spring is only a 1/2 lower this with the koni would be aroun 1 full inch lower that would be perfect, but i realy can lower the back with the 295/45/17 the MT D/R's are a inch higher than stock tires ,

Actually the 295/45/17 are closer to 2" taller (27.45")than stock (25.66").
The SLP level 2 springs should work good since most people that have them think they hardly lower the front at all.

That doesn't make sense at all. Hell even with KONI's vague instruction tells you how to do the lower perch, so why would they void the shock because of this?

Mine is lowered about 3/4-1". I say to 1" because of the 9 yr old stock springs I have so they do sag overtime.

just a heads up, having a lowered front will lessen your caster angle and your steering will be a little less strait forward and will be easier to turn... nothing an alignment can't fix.

As mentioned most people use the lower perch with stock springs then do the hose mod for the rear. Strano doesn't recommend using his springs on the lower perch.

There are quite a few people on the board that have done this and I think everyone is happy with it.

The heater hose mod is:You remove the rubber spring spacers and feed some heater hose on the top of springs instead. You use 15" of hose.(3/4")This lowers the car about 1/2".You do this to the rear and use the lower perch for the fronts.(koni sa).I did this to my t/a and I really like the way it looks and handles.A lot of people have done this mod on here and have had really good results. You have to grease the spring to get the hose to go on.
