Question How many 01 and 02 fbodys had a ls6 intake?

I have always read that it was like 15% of 01s and 20 or 25 % of 02 that got a ls6 intake .is that correct . Only reason i ask is someone told me they all had them witch seems way off to me .

It's the heads and the block that were sometime events. All of them got the LS6 intake.

Everybody got "LS6" intake, some few got LS6 blocks,
nobody got LS6 heads. Not that I've heard of anyway.

only a select few top secret ws6 and SS got the ls6 intake... there are only 3 top engineering people at GM that know which cars got them.. they also did special things to the insides on the engine and thats why they are so fast compared to the other ones.. ram air models run a full second faster than the other models.. they also came with an ls6 cam..

this is what some idiot told me on ls1.com..

truth... all got ls6 intake, none got the heads, select few like 20% got the block.. the block doesnt make any more power it just just routes the oil better.

true...but with the ls6 block, is the compression like a 1/2 point higher?

The extra comp (.5) comes from the 243 heads.

thats what i figured.. thanks for clearing that up...

can an actual block itself (nothing else, just a bare block) change compression? all things other wise the same..

no. only things that change the compression are the head design, milling the heads, or changing pistons.
