Default Big planss

alrigiht guys so here's the deal, i currently have a heads cam car and i just dont think its fast enough. so im looking into building a new motor.

1.) a forged 347, low comp and through a turbo set up i've seen high 500 to low 600 hp from these set ups,

2.) a 383 with nitrous, i havent seen to many 383's over 500rwhp. which 500 is my goal.

3.) building a 402 all motor i have seen these things put down mid 500 rwhp. trust me i'd love to build one but i can build a 347 and boost it for the same price, also im not even sure what all i need to make an ls2 block fit in an fbody, like oil pans and other things like that.

i would really like some imput on this topic. im really leaning into the 347 build just for the simple fact is i think i might be able to make the most power outta this set up with the correct turbo set up.

Default 347 or +++

An LS2 will fit like a glove other than you have to relocate the knock sensors, or be dangerous and disable them?

Then you also have the cam sensor on the Cam Gear, no big deal as you can just make the harness longer. However you need to pay attention as you may have to change the position of 2 wires for it....

Other than that, fits like a glove !

At least that's all I had to do with both of my LS2 blocks. Well also many $ $ $ $ later... LOL...

Good Luck in ur choice.

well im probably going to end up reusing my ls1 block i have ill probably end up making a 383 because for the price of forced induction and making a forged 347 i can just build a high comp 383 and hit that bitch with some spray. and make some damn good powa

Reuse your block and make a 383 with some spray!

Put down some killer power and be fast too!

If you are still doing track stuff though, wouldn't you want to downsize your cam? 228R or Torquer V.3?

my opinion, i would choose the 1st option. forged 347 with a turbo/procharger. Youd make the best power, still get good gas mileage if you baby it around but who does that.

The 383 with spray is a good idea but u gotta think about refilling the bottle.

The 402 is also a good idea if you want to stay all motor. Why not put a 408 stroker or even a 414? Theres many options out there just sit down and think what your gonna do with the car everyday. Is it a DD or weekend warrior? Just gotta suit what your looking to in it. But deffinately the forged 347 with a turbo/procharger sounds the best.

well alot of you guys are gonna love this, due to the fact that i already own an ls1 block im just going to strip that down, buy a tsp 383 rotating assembly forged assembly that is..... then i plan on running high compression because i already have a set of prc 5.3 heads with the ms3 cam, i already have a full bolt on car except for intake which im going to be running a bbk because i plan on using nitrous and i was told fast intakes run a little rich. i plan on running tsp as stated before, i have had nothing but good costumer care with those guys so i plan on keeping my business with them.

Stick with what you got. No point of wasting a perfectly good LS1 block. If you do decide to get rid of it, you could always give me a good price on it for an LSx conversion

I bet that 383 rotating assembly runs somewhere around ~$1800 too? Sounds like a perfect bang for your buck to me.

Your car with the intake manifold, EWP, and a dyno tune should be making high 400's to the tire right?

If thats not always enough, just add some spray!
