Default LS1 conversion radiator? tranny side used as a oil cooler ?

LS1 conversion radiator? tranny side used as a oil cooler

I have a Procharged 01 SS

I installed the bigger core SLP/LT1 radiator a while back.

OK my car is a 6-speed, and the SLP radiator comes with the tranny cooler part pluged off for manual LS1 cars.

I wanted to run a line from my oil filter area to the tranny side of the radiator and back out to a port drilled and taped into the oil cap as a return to cool off the engine oil a bit.

Now will the tranny cooler built into the SLP/LT1 radiator make a difference to cool off the engine oil? i know its small but it does work to cool off tranny fluid

what do u guys think??

Default Trans oil cooler

I think it would but dunno how much. Anything if your FI would prolly help !
If ya just dump it back into the valve cover, won't that lower your overall pressure n volume going through the engine?

Why not use the lil fitting above the oil filter and pipe a tube to and from. That way your cooling it B4 it goes back into the engine ?

My 2 cents.....

i know about the fitting above the oil filter that would go (feed) to the SLP/LT1 Radiator - tranny cooler, but where would i return it out of the radiator??? i was thinking back to the oil cap/valve cover

I used the tranny cooler on my radiator for power steering cooler and put in a straight hose instead of the factory SS cooler. I thought about the oil cooler idea but I would rather a seperate oil cooler when I decide to run it, I think it would be more effective.

Just my .02
