Question What stage 243 to get 450 RWHP NA on Auto C5

So my question is with this set up;

243 heads w/ catch can
cam 234/242 615/615 112 LSA
921 Comp Springs and Ti retainers
Vararam VRB2
Stock 2002 C5 LS 5.7 bottom end
LS2 ported intake manifold (LS2 Portworks)
Comp oe lifters
GM Stock valves (Hollow/sodium filled) 2.00 1.55
90MM Throttle body w/ ZO6 MAF
RPM Stage 4 4L60E (good to 500 rwhp)
ZO6 3.42 diff w/ hardened out put shaft
Harland Sharp Rockers 1.7
1 3/4 -3" collector American Racing Headers w/ 3X2.5 "X" pipe - good for 600 rwhp

What stage should the 243's be for 450 rwhp N/A @ 2500 ft altitude and on 91 octane only gas in town.

Also I have not found a set of valve covers to fit the Harland Sharp rockers does any one have any clues. Do not feel like grinding then down to fit the gm head covers.

Thanks for all the info.

With an automatic? Stage 4 or 5.

Don't mess with the heads. Since you have lots of supporting mods I'd say a swap to 1 7/8 headers would get you 430 maybe with stock casting 243's meaning no cnc port work or machining done. If you were to mill them and port them you'd have no problem getting to 450. You could also maybe just mill the heads and save the money you would spend on cnc'n them and get a fast intake manifold that would get you there too imo.

I want the FAST but the wife has already has put a halt on the funds, so I have to work with what I have. The 1 7/8 I was thinking would be good once I go forced induction (ie Turbo/SC)

Yeah man....if you are not able to have your heads either ported or sell them and pick up a set that a sponsor sells then I doubt you will end up meeting your goals. What does your car dyno at currently?

Well The budget is set for the heads, I can't get anything new (ie manifold, headers) reason is I could not do my own set up last time because I was deployeed now that I am at home I can work on the car. I spend $6K(Parts&Labor) with Resurrection Motorsport in Texas to find out the guy was an amature. So now I had to tear down his shitty *** work. I can have the heads ported and milled I am just wondering what stage with what I have. I just want to do it right since it messed up once. I have always put my cars together and let the professionals do the machine work/tune. My wife wanted to surpirse me and she did when I cried after what that guy did LOL not her fault though she wanted to give me a coming home rpesent.

ouch! Well I can say that I am in a similar boat as you man. I don't know what heads would put you in the running for 450rwhp but it seems like you have a fairly aggressive cam. I would follow Mark's advice and go with the cartek 4x. You don't get the credibility that he has without putting together combos that have results. Just my .02

A slightly cheaper option and still very good is TEA stage 2 (243/799) casting.

I dont have numbers because of my nightmare. Never dynod her because when I got her back to where I live the front cover plate and one of my heads where leaking oil and he had not installed a catch can. I will say he came and fixed it but as you can see my night mare began. Then the guy did a tune, in Texas, so I could drive it back home, well when he came to fix his "F" up he re tuned it but not to altitude, he did a amature big cam tune, and cut my O2 sensors so the engine could not compensate, kept the O2 codes from appearing, he set it for sea level where he was at and she was running lean as much as -18% in some RPM ranges, was retuned by a local guy thank God. He then put Comp "R" lifters with stock rockers and he said he got the correct preload by getting smaller push rods LOLOLOL what a moron. When I asked him why he said that the tech at Comp told him to do it like that. I called Comp Cams and they informed me that if they told him that they could get sued. So as you can see never had the opportunity to get her dynod. I was scared of blowing her up.

Oh let me add he never took responsability for his screw up either stay the hell away from that guy and his shop.
