Default 295 45 18 on ruff 18x 9.5

Looking at getting the Nitto nt05 in this size. Its got 275 35 18's on the rear now, and would like a taller tire back there, as I am boosted with 4.11 gears. Anyone know if 295's fit 9.5 inch ruff 280's? What does a 45 look like on an 18 lol? Any pics or ideas?

Here is a pic of the car, fronts are 245 40 18, rears 275 35 18

By Nitto's site they do not come in that size . . .

IIRC MT makes a drag radial that size. It fits the wheel but it is mighty tall . . . 28" I think . . .

The Nitto NT555 comes in that size. Fits just fine, and is 28.31" tall.

I would like a 28 inch tall tire, but do you guys think it would look like **** on a 18 inch rim?

I just re-read your post you were looking at the NT05, not the NT01 . .

NT05 is avail and fits. How would it look? . . . BIG . . . for a "drag" look" it will be dead on, for a street look . . . not sure . . .

FYI, it the is OEM Ford F150 Lightning tire size . . . .

I'd think a 45 series tire on an 18 is going to look very similar to a 40 series on a 17, just kinda "zoomed in" if that makes any sense.

I think your sidewall to wheel ratio will be pretty similar.

I see what youre saying...it might make 18's look like 17's...Im thinking a 45 would help my gearing, 4.11's with a 6500 peak = 105 mph top of 4th hahaha

With the 295/45/18s(28.45")you'll have around 1.4" more sidewall compared to the 275/35/18s(25.58").
IMO,too tall for great handling, but gear wise probably drop you down to around 5900rpm (at 105 mph) which would be good!
Maybe a 295/40/18, or 285/40/18.

thanks for finding those pics! The 45's dont look too shabby, just dont want to go with that tall of a tire if it looks like dogsh1t, but i could use the taller tire as it is cheaper than a gear swap, and will be getting 28 inch tall slicks eventually anyways..

question now is, will it look horrible on an 18 inch rim?

Will 295 45 18's even fit in the finder wells, or would trimming be needed? They are 28 inches tall i believe.

mybandit, how do your 9.5 inch ruffs like that 285? Is a 295 too much?

its not too bad. thay are nitto's so they are alittle smaller. IMO it is prefect so if i do hit a curb (which i have, i hate people that cut me off) it will not mess up the rim. only the sidewall got scuffed up
heres more pictures if it helps

on nitto's website it says the smallest (safely) sized tire to fit a 285 is a 9.5 so i would think 295 might be pushing it just alittle

if u check my cardomain, i have pics of 18x9.5 ruffs on 275/40/18's. I think they looked great in my opinion. 45's may be overkill IMO.

I actually have 2 275/40/18's if your interested PM me.
