WTF? LS6 block in a '99?

WTF? LS6 block in a '99? Getting started on doing a boatload of mods, including LS6 valley cover and PCV setup. I pull the stock valley cover, look for the part that has be cut away sending aluminum shavings flying everywhere, and low and behold it's not there! Also, no ribs in the valley and no bulls-eye on the front of the block. Anyone know what I'm dealing with here? 1999 formula WS6, build date June '99. Off to see if I can read the casting number...
edit: no motor swaps, bought the car brand new...

Tried reading the casting number 6 times with a mirror and flashlight, it's impossible... first time I got 112608? and then 1?5608?..
Maybe when I pull the trans to install my converter I can tilt the motor back and get a better look at it.
Regardless, did any LS1 blocks NOT have the part that needs to be ground away for an LS6 valley cover and have no ribs in the valley?

I'm really only excited about the fact that I won't be sending billions of minuscule aluminum particles all over my engine bay while cutting off the chunk for the LS6 valley cover.
So has anybody seen an LS1 block that looks like this?

when i did my heads and cam swap on my car i put on an ls6 valley cover and pcv system. i didnt have to notch mine, but i dont know if my block was an ls6 block or not either

i would think its nothing more then an early style block with it not having the ribing for support bracing and the lifter bay windows for better breathing
