if all you're doing is swapping the block....it should swap really easy.

all accessories are compatible.

biggest thhing would be getting the wiring and computer dialed in for the new engine.

are you upgrading anything?

its pretty strait forward you have to swap the oil pan, oil pick up tube and windage tray and you have to drill and tap the upper alternator bracket bolt

and try to get a 6.0l with the aluminum heads if I'm not mistaken for the ones with iron heads you have to swap the crank but do a search to be sure theres tons of info its a pretty common swap

Ok thanks for the input what about the motor mounts do i just pull the ones off the ls1 motor and bolt them to the lq4 and bolt it back in the car.

And no i am not upgrading anything right now. i am doing this on a very limited budget and i was a stretch just to afford the motor. seeing as how i had to have one since my current block decided to let its self go.

mounts should be identical.

the mounts are different just use the ls1 ones the motor sit higher and the wheel wells are further apart in the hd trucks but i would also upgrade to a solid mount neways the only thing other than drilling and tapping the alt hole is the battery ground i put mine where the ac bracket used to bolt to the block so if you plan on keeping your ac your gonna have to figure that out
