Default Auto Meter Electric gauges with stock senders

Has anyone tryed to hook up the factory senders (ie oil pressure and temp) to electric aftermarket gauges like Auto Meter? Just seems to me that there couldn't be a hug difference in the senders aside from thread size.

try it, couldn't hurt. but the pcm uses the h2o temp sensor for the e-fan(s). btw, autometer makes adapters for their gauges, pn 2277 for the h20, pn 2268 for oil. less than $10 a pop @ summit.

there is a huge difference, senders need to match the gauge.
