Default ls6 cam w/ slp 1.85 rockers on ls6 springs?

Ok as the title states, I have searched and came up with little. I got my eye on a new set of 243 heads for a reasonable price. My car already had the slp 1.85 rockers installed with ls6 springs when I bought it. Can I run the 02+ ls6 cam on these springs w/ the 1.85's? I plan on milling the 243's for a compression bump, would that make up the difference for correct push rod length?
I have the stock rockers also, so I can ditch this whole idea and get a custom grind setup w/ stock 1.7's, if that would be the best route. I figured since it had the 1.85's already on it, I would try to roll with a stealthy, sleeper setup. Thanks guys!

*Oh btw the car is makin around 330whp 340wtq 11.9afr with mods in sig. I really would like to get up around 400whp, completely driveable, decent mileage etc...But Im thinkin 380 is prolly all ill get out of the ls6 setup.

no way those springs will handle the lift.

ls6 cam is .550" i think.....so with 1.85s it would be about .598" lift.

the ls6 springs are rated to something like .560"

you'll need cc918s as a minimum...better off going bigger.

gonna be tough hitting your goal with that cam and just milled 243s....send them out for some mild porting and you could be damn close to the goal though.

Yea I figured the springs were borderline, I just wanted a few opinions. I have a good head porter available to work the 243's over too. thanks for the reply.

yeah...not only do they not have enough lift capacity....you'll need more spring pressure to snap the valves closed with such high lift.

Ok, so which beehive springs should I go with? Im thinkin that I want the beehives that are a step up from the 918's?

so with upgraded springs will I hit around 400whp with ported 243's, ls6 cam, and 1.85 rockers? If the ls6 cam won't cut it, what do you guys think about this cam? I want somethin with good power and tq under the curve, this one caught my eye. Similar to ls6 on lift, but a lil more duration and alot tighter lsa.

the thumpers have not really been tested/proven much since they are so new (for the lsx).

i would say ditch the rockers and go with a more proven cam with the added lift already built in.
there are MANY cams out there that will get you a damn near guaranteed 400rwhp with a good set of ported heads.

i would suggest the 228R or the TR224

Thanks, appreciate your input! What do you think of the tr 214/230 .601 .573? Seems like a nice sleeper cam...

Nice! What kind of power do you think it would make cam only, also what would it do with lightly worked 243's on my setup?

*edit. lpe gt11 cam looks impresive too...

seeing you have an a4...i'll say you should put down a solid 370-380rwhp cam only, with a set of heads that flow 300cfm @ .60" lift...you should pick up the extra power to hit 400rwhp.

not only will you benefit frm more flow with the 243s, but more compression, and i would have them milled to even more or at least run a thinner gasket. you'll have to ask around to see how much you can take off with that cam.

If you wanna keep running your 1.85 rockers get a GMPP ASA cam.Its .525,525.234/236 on a 110lsa.it will give you nasty power down below and with 1.85 rockers you lift will go up to around .580-590.And that cam sounds nasty to.Just my .02

Sweet, Ill look around for some info on that cam, thanks.
I found out earlier that im not runnin ls6 springs, they are either the slp 53002 manley springs, or 53003 beehive springs. I talked to the guy earlier I bought the car from and he said that he had the whole slp/ rocker arm spring package installed. I can verify because he gave me all the stock parts with the car. He thought the slp rocker package came with the
ls6 springs, but actually they come with either, 53002 wich are 115lbs, or 53003 wich are 130lbs. I looked down the oil fill, and the springs are not yellow or blue.
