Car went a 12.02 tonight with a Custom CAI, LG 1 7/8 SuperPro Headers and a custom 3" MagnaFlow Exhaust built by LG in Wylie Tx. This Pass was with a 100% bone stock motor with NO nitrous.

Car made 427/426 to the wheels with their headers and exhaust. Here's the dyno chart before and after headers.

Nice run man, car sounds really good too..I am trying to decide what to do on my exhaust now..Just got my ss last week...these cars are picking up a lot of power from just bolt on stuff and tunes

2900ft DA 88 degrees and 60% humidity. Terrible for racing.

Nice. The things listed in your post are the ONLY things done to the car, right? If so, that's actually a pretty good time.

I like how it chirps the tires at each shift.

Sharpe, I think he's got the smaller front wheels/brakes on that car as well.

Nice pass for sure. I wouldn't say its "full bolt-on" though. Still a stock pulley right?

How is that race weight??? Was anything taken off the car? I would assume not due to the MPH but I was just curious.

OrangeChevyII
08-17-2009, 10:09 AM
Car weighs 3750 with driver, only thing different is smaller brakes on front and running a 16" CCW in the front and a 18" Zo6 rear wheel.

Impressive, nice run man!! If you don't mind, how much did it cost to get the parts? I meant the bolt-ons without the wheels and brakes? and what tires are these?? I might get the same parts for my 2SS.

Thanks

So i take it that weight reduction was done? I thought these cars were just under 4k lbs? Also wouldn't a 3700lb car with 420whp trap arond 120?
Either way very nice!!!

08-17-2009, 11:40 AM
That's by far a better 60' than any times listed thus far....that has alot to do with the ET...that MPH is on par with most other bolt-on SS's...which means the HP is about right...might actually be a little high (HP) for the ET.

WOW good driving. Its cool to see that every time you post an update you just keep getting quicker. Now pull the belt and it will go in the 11s. Every car I have ever owned has picked up from .1 to .3 without a belt.

Are you still on the stock tune? Either way, a 12 flat, in 2900 DA, with just a few bolt-ons is damn impressive.

Id like to see more on this as well.

My Goat weighs 3,580 with 5gal of fuel, spare and jack removed, full exhaust and a 9.5'' converter. All other weight is there, A4 car. 3,770 race weight. I was under the impression that the curb on bone stock 5thGens is 3,900~ or so.

Either way nice runs in crap D.A. 11s all day if you can hook in mine shaft air. +1 on driver mod launch and vicious 60'ft. Anything done to the suspension?

P.S. I would consider FULL boltons to include an aftermarket or ported stock intake and TB, and UDP.

The car was tuned the day after he purchased it.

It did run a 12.09 at 114 last night with the traction control on. :drive:

Nothing is pulled out of the car to save weight only change the wheels on the front and back. With the stock wheels and tires it weighs around 3850 ish. Most of the weight savings came from the headers ,exhaust and air intake that removed a combined total of 45 lbs.

Stock untouched suspension. The tb porting wouldnt gain enough to speak about and a UDP is not going on it. No reason to port the stock intake if FAST is going to sell a intake for it in the next few months.

very nice runs! except that car isnt full bolt ons.

if you take it to mustang full bolt on specs ( strip interior, delete a\c, power steering, replace entire suspension) you'd run 10's in a bolt on 2010!

Nice run. I'm confused about the weight. If an SS weighs around 3950 lbs and your raceweight with driver was 3750 - assuming a 200 lbs driver. Where did you lose about 400 lbs??

Also figuring 15% drivetrain loss you must be making around 500 HP at the motor to put down 425 to the wheels. So you gained 75 HP with air intake and exhaust mods? I'm not accusing you of lying but that just sounds extreme.

Please elaborate!

Sounds like it has a nice tune to me...but I don't know squat about how much power the new motors make.

how much does the stock ls3 intake manafold and TB flow

MY LS3 A6 WITH ALL THE BOLTS ONs is 285 RWKW =382.9 RWHP or 476FWHP alowing 25% drivetrain loss

The car weighed 3960 with a driver, in paper tags and all. Yes the car made 370/363 un tuned to the wheels with a 118 miles on the clock, tuned it made 390/393. After the cats were deleted it made 4 more rwhp.

The final numbers posted are what it made with Headers, CAI and a Tune. The car has 1740 miles on it now, stock clutch.

squale iii, how much does your car weigh? 404 RWHP in a vert seems like it may have it's work cut out for it against a 2010 ss with similar mods.

squale iii, how much does your car weigh? 404 RWHP in a vert seems like it may have it's work cut out for it against a 2010 ss with similar mods.

I estimate w/o the passenger seat I've removed close to 200lbs (based on the LS1 item weight charts i've seen on here). So I'd say with gas, and with my skinny ass in it, 3500lbs give or take. I don't think I'll have any trouble, i'm tapping on 11's door with my shitty 3.42. Did 12.05@116 w/1.83 last season. Ported FAST 92/92 going on next week :) Cylinder heads in teh spring...u get the idea ;)

and when you say "with similar mods"...i'm not saying i'll be faster than a H/I/C 2010 SS lol. just faster than bolt-on ones, but still gonna be fun to spank'em in a vert nonetheless.

I made 483 rwhp with a cam, stock heads. I can make close to 500 just by deleting the cats. I dont like the smell. I can port the heads and cut them and make closer to 530 N/A rwhp. Pick your poison???:gtfo:

I made close to 570 on spray with the stock cam, you dont want to know the new numbers with a cam.

We can argue all day, the race will never happen. Ever.

lol, I agree, you're car has a better motor. I simply stated I can wax on bolt-on 2010 SS camaros  Trying to race our cars against eachother on the internet is pretty dumb lol. I'm simply stating that I can run your 11.8x right now with 404rwhp if I had a rear end that I wasn't scared to break.

edit: One of my buddies friends just made 620rwhp at cincy speed with a Trex and a 200 shot on a stock ls1.. You've gotta consider the weight between our vehicles too... Just sayin, lol.

I'm not saying you can't run 1.6x-1.7x 60's on 10 bolts...i'm simply stating that i don't launch the car hard b/c I'd rather throw 2 grand towards heads than a rear end right now lol. Most of my races happen out on the road when i'm rolling anyways, what good is a hp robbing 9" gonna do me at 50mph? lol.

are those stock z06 wheels or aftermarket.
i know that the c5 vette fits c6 z06 stock wheels cuz i got em on a c5 z06
so if those are stock than the c6 z06 wheels should fit my 2010 2ss ..right?

so your saying this car weighs somewhere around 3550lbs without an ass in the seat?

no, i'm saying it SHOULD weigh about that WITH me in it. I'm a skinny mofo. I'm estimating this based on the weight charts I've looked at on this site. I removed the catback, I removed the a/c, I removed all seats, I removed spare tire and jack, I removed all EGR components, stuff adds up.
