so yesterday i got the shift **** off my buddies 04 GTO.... so i go to make it work on my SS and start to twist the **** off and next thing i know.... the rubber part on the bottom of the stock shifter decided to let go and the whole stick twists around and comes out....... so i'm holding the shifter handle with the **** still attached in my hand..... so i pull the top of the console off and pull the part that mounts to the shifter plate(the bottom part of the stock shifter handle) and just wanna know if anybody has had this happen to them??? or is it just my luck hahaha

that really sucks never heard of that before, My car came with a Hurst Billet.

I found out mine just broke yesterday. I rebuilt my trans because it got stuck in 4th. Got it trans buttoned up and the shifter wouldnt go back into the neutral position between 3/4. If I moved left or right it would stay there. Come to find it it broke the perpendicular rod... must have broke while trying to jam it out of 4th.

I thought put the tranny back together wrong lol. Stock shifter=JUNK

I have the same problem. I picked mine up that way. It will twist and the new angle causes a few grinds into third (has the ever present bent shift fork). I am thinking about tapping in a bolt so it can't spin or come out.
