Default Clutch Question(s)

If anyone has any insight on this, I'd be grateful.......

https://ls1tech.com/forums/manual-tr...ix-clutch.html

I posted in manual trans section, and I'm not getting anywhere.

I am looking for info on swapping the stock dual mass flywheel setup as well. I bought the LS7 Corvette Clutch and Pressure plate as well as a LS7 flywheel. I am trying to find out some info on how much shimming is required. I did find this from KATECH http://store.katechengines.com/share...unt2=633445382 A spacer for $90. I would rather change out the throwout bearing and use a F-body or GTO one if possible. We are converting the MN12 CTS/v trans with a F-body tailhousing and GTO mainshaft so I can use it in my Chevelle.

EDIT: part number is KAT-3816 for some reason the link just goes to the shop online page

If you get the LS7 fw/pp/clutch, you only need the LS7 slave. The LS7 fw is the only LSx fw with little bumps to raise it up where it attached to the p.plate.

If you use a LS6 slave, you'll need a spacer .970 to make up the difference between the dual mass and regular LS1/2 fw. Raven154 helped me with that info.

What's the diff between a F Body / GTO slave compared to the LS6 slave in the V's?

I know they have different fittings for the inlet and outlet than the V/LS7 has. I tried about 4 before, I realized the LS7 was the only one that would work. The LS7 has a longer inlet line, but it still works fine. Just tuck away the excess.

Here is a link to a picture of the Camaro throw out bearing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/INTER...Q5fAccessories I was thinking that it would make up the difference without the $90 spacer. It is a little more but I am also going to use a Camaro clutch master cylinderb. The flywheel number I have is 12571611. I have the CTS-v pedals and clutch master but the way it is retained would not be easy to adapt to my car.

So let me get this straight. In a CTS-V you can put an LS7 fw/pp/clutch with the LS7 slave and it will bolt up and function with no adapter?

You are correct Sir! (as long as you use a LS7 slave)
