Heating issues Ok so the new H/C is done. I live in Az so I am having issues with getting hot while standing in traffic or city traffic (240-250) so am debating weather get a 3200+ cfm fan, and stay with the stock radiator or should I go with a cross flow radiator with stock fans. I am also thinking of changing my mix of coolant to 1 1/2 gallons of distilled water, 1/2 gallon of coolant, and 2 bottles of purple ice.

Did the heads change the compression at all or did it just all of a sudden start overheating? Are you positive that all the air is out of the system?
Is there an air dam under the front like there is on f-bodies that you forgot to put back on?
Ive never used purple ice, but ive used water wetter in the race car before and it made almost no difference when it was hot and humid here.
Also make sure there isnt some piece of trash that got sucked up into the radiator and maybe try hosing it out before you try to change fans and ****.

theres a chance of ur the thermastat is bad too

ok Ill drain her re fill her and see what happens.
the radiator was blown out before remounting
the thermostat is new, but it could be bad
the cap was pressure tested by my buddy and he said it was good
The deck was only milled very lightly no big difference in compression ratio if anything from 10.5 to 10.8
Ill be back as soon as I get her out again.

Did the guy really tell you that fans draw more current when they come on at engine temp 230 versus 200?
Go nut-kick whoever told you that fib. And then set your fans lower. I'd think about:
Fan 1: on 190, off 180
Fan 2: on 205, off 195
This assumes you don't want both fans running concurrently unless things are really hot.

Fans draw the same current regardless of what temp they come on, they're just electric motors.

Yeah I would look at the simple things first as already mentioned here. If need be though I would upgrade something, you dont wanna see 250 temps. I will say though my car stock in hot/humid weather would see 230-240 with AC running and it drove perfect. I had my fans adjusted and now it stays 190-210
