Default New custom shifter! Love it!

Ok so I finally installed the custom shifter that 2003rc51 made for me along with the uuc bushings from Luke. Thanks to both parties!!! Cant believe i waited this long to do it but am glad i finally did.I absolutly love it and it makes the car feel a lot tighter all around is around 30% shorter shifts and No more sloppyness and no missing 5th gear anymore for me

For those that are interested It is alot like the TPIS shifter except you re-use the white bushing on the stock shifter.

The install was pretty easy we used the from the top method and the biggest pain in the *** was drilling those damn metal bushings out :thepan: took forever guess we needed better bits.

But yeah I think ryan(2003rc51) does kickass work and thank him again for letting me be the test mule.

awsome to hear. Do you mean drilling the rivets was a pain ?

I just messaged luke for the bushings, how much are they going for BTW?

Im working on the same thing. Got a spare shifter to test on for dirt cheap from a fellow member.
I will be welding a pice of 1/2 steel pipe to the bottom of the shifter assembly.

The I.D. of the steel pipe is perfect fot the stock white bushing to fit in, mine will be getting welded on tomoro ill post up some pics.

Im glad im not the only cheap *** that wouldnt spent 400$ on a shifter.

:

I hope it found its way to you safely. Show us some pics of how you modify the stalk before you install it. I haven't seen any pics on either board.

Not a lot to it, It looks almost identical to the tpis one so looks like this the only difference is you have to move that white bushing in from the original spot and move it to the bottom. (Its like that already in this Pic)

But there is Zero vibration just feel much tighter and is 30% shorter.
The bushings from luke are a must too though this just shortens the throw and the bushings probebly do most of the tightening and give it the knotchy feel

The shifter doesn't sit lower, the shifts get shorter by extending the arm on the bottom. It decreases your leverage and shortens the shifts. Does the same thing as a short stick, but without the short stick lol.

Luke is a the parts department manager for Lindsay Cadillac. He is not on this forum but he is on cadillacforums.com Luke sells the UUC shifter and UUC bushings. It is way more expensive, but is very well made and very quiet.
