Two weekends ago I raced a lt1 that was cammed & tuned and that shit pulled on me little by little in the 1/8 mile. At the end he got me by a car and a half I would say:(. Is this possible or did have more than here was letting me know?

well, a heads and cam lt1's are no joke. i mean an engine is really all about getting air in and out. the lt1's main drawback is it flows less air. elliot port works has some nasty heads cam combo's for them too. so maybe it was a heads and cam

Go to the LT1 section and check out the dyno thread. It's not uncommon for bolt-on and cammed LT1s to put mid 300s to the wheels. I doubt he had anything more than what's mentioned.
You're stock.

It being tuned helps a whole lot, he could possibly be near 400 with a nice heads and cam with full bolt-ons.

What company was it, AI, or something has a heads and cam package that put down something just short of 400. They are serious business. I know the cam would have to be pretty aggressive and pretty good heads, but can be done.

Definitely possible. Probably looking at a 300 rwhp car vs a 320 rwhp car if the LT1 had a mild cam. With a more aggressive cam it could be upwards of 340 rwhp.
As for the heads/cam and 383 stuff, I've seen mild 383's that only put down 370 to the ground through an auto and aggressive head/cam setups making decently over 400. It's all in the combo.

My buddies car put down 340rwhp with a gm lt4 hotcam, shorties, tb, and some other small bolt ons.
Your stock ls1 isn't king of the road. Now, mod up before a '11 GT shows you a thrashing.

sounds right, bolt on, heads and cam lt1s are no joke, go get a few cheap mods. and its def possible for a 383 stroker to hit 400hp

My small cammed (CC305) and heads LT1 makes 366rwhp/344ft-lb, through shorty headers and full exhaust. It's only a 355 and built on a budget. An LS1 has advantages stock, but once you start going into the motor its a different story. A stock LS1 isn't going to run with an LTx motor that's been put together right.
