Just picked this off off the NMCA site. Not sure if you all get a chance to check out the LSX Shootout section but this is big so figured I put this here.

GM High-Tech Performance 2010 Camaro Shootout Announced

GM High-Tech Performance magazine has just announced a special heads-up Shootout for Chevy's newest hot rod. The GM High-Tech Performance 2010 Camaro Shootout will take the top-8 competitors from Saturday's LSX True Street Challenge and race them heads-up in a Sunday bonus race where the winner will receive an LSX block, courtesy of Scoggin-Dickey, and color feature in GM High-Tech Performance magazine!

GM High-Tech Performance 2010 Camaro Shootout Class Rules:

Each contestant will be required to register and compete in the Tremec True Street class (vehicles must meet True Street rules) on Saturday and complete all three runs, only the fastest eight 2010s will be selected. The eight competitors who have the fastest 3-pass averages will be placed on a sportsman ladder and will race heads-up on a 4/10 Pro Tree. Each Camaro must have an LS or LLT (V-6)-based motor, OEM-style transmission, electronic fuel injection and be stock-appearing. Racing seats are permitted, and each car must comply with applicable NHRA and NMCA safety rules. The winner will receive an LSX block courtesy of Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center as well as an LSX Shootout jacket, plaque, and a feature in GM High-Tech Performance magazine. The runner-up will be awarded a jacket and a plaque; all contestants will receive LSX Shootout T-shirts and subscriptions to GMHTP.

Is that a type-o where it says you must have an LS or LLT (V-6)- based motor?

Or should it read along the lines of LSx and V6 motors are allowed?

yeah it is along the lines of you can run the v6 or the ls based motor..comes with ls3 right?

I think if you were to put another ls based motor, like the LSX or LS9 in it would be legal.

Can you get some clarification for us on that? It'd be alot more interesting if more cubes and LSx stuff was allowed, I'm sure!

All of our ERL LS series blocks are allowed because they are GM LS based blocks.

Cool deal, were working on some race half shafts for a few customers that are planning on racing this event. Should be some good times!

Thanks

I plan on entering my SS, it sure would be nice to have a roll call to see who all plans on racing so I can figure out if I can make it more than one round. ;)

I'll be bringing 2 cars though, so maybe 1 round in the new SS & one round in the Street Class. ;)
