What do ya'll think of this for a DD? It needs some TLC, but the body is in good shape and has belltech suspension. It is a 88' 1500 2wd. Tell me what you think

Hell yes it would be. I had an 88' Chevy 1500 for a while w/ a 2" F/ 3.5" R drop. It was a damn good truck, but the MPG was a little soft. With a bolt on L05 and 3.42 gears I was averaging about 15-16 MPG mixed driving.

take a left out of your driveway, then look left at the stop sign, it's been there for a couple days, has the slp totl exhaust that's hanging down. I had seen it a month or so back pulling out of remington. I think it's either a 93 or 94.

I did research on a a 5.3/6.0 swap. To damn expensive......
Factory harness will not work
Trans crossmember has to be cut and re-welded

It's a big mess......Anyone have a 350TBI around?

Well I'm going to swap mine, so I guess my 350 TBI might be up for grabs? I'd trade it for a known good 4l60e that would bolt up to a LT1, its one of the few things I need left for my swap.

Well, depends on how much it is. What size engine, lots of factors. I dont know how much that suspension is worth, but I have been looking at these exact vehicles, 88-98 short cab short bed GMC or Chevy and I can tell you, they are a dime a dozen. They are all over the place for under $3k with V8 and paint. There is even a couple here and there in the $1500 range that need paint but have a V8. So you have to ask yourself, what does paint cost, if it has a V6, what will it cost to put a V8 in it, rims, etc etc etc when you can find a nice one for only $3000. If it were in the $500 to $1000 range and runs and drives, well then maybe. If you can buy one allready nice for far less than making that one nice, then walk away.

That's not bad.....I have read that you have to get an after market harness with computer and its around 500 just for that.

The truck doesn't have a motor in it. It came with a 305 TBI, so I am looking to find a 350 TBI and the computer, then I should be fine....I just want to get it on the road and park this camaro.
