S10 ls swaps, what th400 did use and why? lookin to drop my 5.3 into my 1st gen s10. i want to use a th400 trans and was wondering which one did u use and parts to bolt it up. i know there are different size transmission in length. trying to get one to be close so i can use the stock driveshaft. Also what flexplate did u use, a dish or the other? also did u use the hughes spacer or the crankshaft adaptor.?

I think there are to many variables to give a specific recomendation.
Like engine setback for one.
On my S10 swap I used a 700R4, an 8.8 ford rear, and ended up using a stock huge aluminum driveshaft out of an unknown explorer. It fit perfect with no mods, just needed a cross over u-joint and GM yoke up front.
