Default Does the sts turbo oil return line ? Want to run AN lines...

My stock sts turbo kit had the 67 and the brass oil return line going from the turbo had a oil restrictor inline I heard, they said it was necassary and vital. So with going to another turbo like the MC/TC78. Do I need to keep the restrictor?? Trying to run AN lines from the turbo to oil pan..

Doubt it but its more trial and error. The check valve is there to keep oil from pooling in the trubo while the car is of. A restrictor in the line may not be needed for the bigger turbo if smoke comes from the turbo then yes it needs a restrictor but also make dam sure the check valve is workin.

Hard to say as every turbo setup is different. Oil pressure from the motor and pump placement....etc all control this...

Now that I think about it I ran no restrictor on the stock feed and sts pump. It was only after I added a bigger feed for my turbo because the stock line started to leak and I added a 3/8 feed line with a -6 drain.

Turbo was a 76 GTS

yeh Im just going to run the stock lines and fitting for the sts 67 and pump on my new tc78, think it should work. Yeh no restricter on feed line but there is one on the return. Just dont want the oil to puddle up or underfeed the turbo.

sorry excuse my ignorance, you guys are putting a restrictor and a check valve on the feed? I am going to be doing lines sometime and just want to make sure I have all my bases covered, I have a restrictor on the feed, the check valve is necessary as well on the feed?
