Heard a guy talkin about it at work and I've never seen this before. Does anyone have a pic of it?

You've never seen HUD before? alot of the '97-03 Grand Prix's came with it and Vette's have had it a while too. Once you've had it you miss it when it's not on the car. GMC Acadia's have it too i believe. Never seen anything but a GM vehicle with it. Basically what it does is Project a screen with speed and many other things up onto the windsheild right over the steering wheel and guage cluster so you don't have to look at the guages~Cole~

This pic is from when i retrofitted my '98 with it. It only came on the '99+ Vette's as an option but can be put in the '97-'98's:

This is what it looks like when you disassemble the dash to install the heads up display.

Here is a driving picture of the display.

No, I just have the base windshield. I haven't driven a car with the HUD windshield to be able to tell you what the difference is, but I can say it works just fine with a non-HUD windshield.

Sorry to hijack but what's up with the HUD windshield? Do they do something to the glass to make the HUD read more clearly or what? I'm just asking because it seems kind of unnecessary.

From what I understand (although I can be wrong) a thin film on the windshield is required to make sure the image projected onto the glass isn't ghosting.

BTW, I love the HUD.
