Default LS1 GTO choking on w.o.t.

So, I have a 2004 GTO LS1 engine ,ecu & transmission in my 1995 jeep wrangler. I have less than 500mi. on new install. all stock except for cold air intake & SANDERSON HEADERS......recently when I try to "gas on it" from dead stop or rolling it chokes down like it is running out of fuel. fuel pressure is 60psi at idle. it throughs "lean bank 2" code some times. I replaced fuel filter,O2 sensors, spark wires, titanium ngk plugs. still same problem. any ideas would be apreciated!

What fuel pump? Is the fuel supply line big enough?

Hows the fuel pressure when you rev it sitting in park?

EDIT:

Post some pics of that thing man, that sounds like a cool as swap and bet it makes that jeep haul *** !

Not sure what brand fuel pump. It is external though. in park it revs fine like nothing is wrong. *** summit racing fuel pump #sum-G3138***

So it sounds like when its under load is stumbles for fuel, setting the lean code.

Are you still running a return style fuel system? Meaning theres one line going to the fuel rail and one comming off of it going back to the tank?

Your not trying to pull fuel through a pump thats still in the tank, correct?

yeah...Stock tank pump didn't have enough gph. so it runs on the external pump only. I believe that there is a return line but is goes back to a second inline corvette filter not to the tank.

Wait, the return line goes where? A filter?

The return doesnt need a filter, it should go directly to the tank and nowhere else.

sorry...I went and looked at it again...there is a second corvette filter before it goes to the fuel rail...there is a return line to the tank comming off the back of the filter (next to the one from the fuel pump) and then only one line going to the fuel rail...no return off the rail.

edit: Local shop had it for three days and they said I had a problem with my computer...After talking to john at Speartech I think my local shop has no idea what they are talking about.
If it were a fuel problem or ECU problem...wouldn't it have problems running and reving in park as well?

Exhaust leak wouldnt cause it.

Vacuum leak, maybe. Take a can of carb cleaner or brake clean and spray around the T/B gasket, intake gaskets, and vacuum lines. If the idle goes up when you spray something, theres a leak there.

I would think if it was a computer problem, it would do it in park/neutral and thats why I had asked you that before.

Theres not an old fuel filter inline that isnt new is there?

Where did you get the 12v power for the fuel pump?

O.K. I'll try that. No "old filters" everything that makes the Jeep run is all new.

If it were plug wires...wouldn't it run bad all the time...not just in accelleration? It runs perfect and revs supper smooth in park....just sucks eggs under load???

mine had similar symtoms, was great until i mashed it. I had one of my new plug wires melting against the header, just enough not to throw a misfire but cause it to run rough when i got on it. also check and make sure you have all the wires fully seated...
