Default Rasp w/ Pacesetters and Magnaflow

I had some Pacesetters and ORY recently installed. I had a Magnaflow catback already on the car. However, when I'm at WOT (or near it) the exhaust sounds almost like glasspacks. The rumble just isn't there. Any ideas? The guys who installed the headers said there are a couple leaks in the Magnaflow where the pipes meet over the axle? Would this cause rasp?

Which y-pipe? Most y-pipes I have seen are crap. A custom y pipe with much better flow completely changed the sound of my exhaust.

dont have lts yet, but i have the magnaflow and i have a few leaks that i plan on fixing tonight, but i heard that magnaflows with an ORY is very raspy compared to a magnaflow with lts and catted y. so try loosening up ur magnaflow and try to fix leaks see if that works if not, maybe try a new y pipe

magnaflow with a TSP y pipe here zero rasp. From what I have read a lot of the rasp can come from the merger of the Y pipe.

It's a Pacesetter Y. I'd really like to to true duals and hopefully that'd give me more of a "rumble."

Pacesetter's Y-pipe "merge" is so crappy.

I added a Flowmaster merge collector and it is 99.9% better!

I've had the TSP cat and no cat Y, and the pacesetter Y, with my setup and a magnaflow catback. The Y with cats sounded OK but was still a little raspy. But I had to get rid of the cats before I left one on the road because my car is so low. Both Y's without cats were extremely loud and raspy. The TSP and pacesetter sounded the same. It sounded just like a 1975 big 10 Chevy truck with glasspacks. My car is a heads/cam car so can't say for sure how it would have sounded with just headers and ory, but from my experience the magnaflow isn't the best choice.

Pacesetters w/ there Y and the Magnaflow... no rasp, just deep. I've gotten tons of compliments on the sound over the years from various people. There must be something wrong somewhere.

running pacesetters, ory, and magnaflow and i have 0 rasp? im not sure where the rasp people are mentioning is coming from. my setup is very quiet even cammed, and it has a smooth crisp sound. i have been up in the air about ditching my ory, and magnaflow for tru duals and dynomax bullets.

I had the same set-up except I had a TSP Y. It sounded like ***, so I threw on a Flowmaster merge onto the Y.... it sounded way better. The car sounds the best at WOT. Check for leaks esp in the headers/y. If alls well i would maybe get a flowmaster merge.

Leaks and a crap y-pipe seem to be the biggest issue causing rasp. I have a few leaks I know of but that really isnt causing any rasp for me. I really don't know what all this rasp is everyone is talking about with the magnaflow muffler. After having a flowmaster with a **** load of rasp I just dont see any rasp issues with a magnaflow.
