What kinda firsts are in store for the next year....
What do you think we're gonna see as times in the next year?
Colonel: 8s on motor?
Harlan: 8s?
PSJ: 11.01?
When will there be a 10 sec SI car?
When will there be a 8 sec 346CID car?
Will there be a 9 sec H/C car?
Will there be any 8 sec M6s?
Will there be any 7 sec LS1 based car, in the forseeable future? How long will it take for someone to put a NOS 422 in a 2300lb Pro Stock type chassis?
Will there be a legitimate 500rwhp H/C car?
What else, new and exciting, will we see in the next year?

2004 predictions:
8 second 346-348ci setup
8 second motor car (C5R)
7 second outlaw car
And Spanky you gotta work on that 12.3 best of yours, maybe you could go to the track this weekend?

Are you gonna be racing this weekend? I'd like to see what a $100,000 car runs in the 1/4.
BTW, Ten days was August 4th......

I Think 9's will be the # next season. Im looking to do it with my new 346 going to be built over the winter/spring, installed in summer raced in fall. But 9's out of alot of ESP cars I think. lot of ripping and taring going on there.
Cant wait.
Harlan, 8's. I want to see that!!!!!!! That will be sick!!!!! Man i love turbo cars.

I may actually mod my car next year! lol.
realistically, I don't see a 7 coming, but I do see Col. going bottom 9's MAYBE 8.99 NA. Oh and I'm willing to bet Harlan goes past 155mph.
I'd like to see a trend of more 4spds (manual - Jerico/Lenco) or get some results out of overdrive and/or lockup 3spds.
I can guarantee an LS1 (stock internal) can go 10's. First one to put it in a well set-up 5.0 Fox body will have it.

Derty your car came a long was since North vs. South when I saw it running 116 mph traps on motor through the 6 speed? What's changed on the car as far as motor goes? Anything and what does it run on motor now through the Automatic.

The only thing I can really say is that it took me the better part of the summer to really get all of the parts dialed in well. I'm definitely expecting a few good passes this next year. To be able to put the car away for the winter in good shape is a rather positive blessing at this point. I don't know if it has an 8 in it, but I might decide to give it hell. Who knows!

10s SI are definitley doable...even without the occasion factory installed LS6 heads (and possibly cam?).
8s NA are my goal. All I need is a fast car and a hookin' track!
I don't see NA 9s for heads/cam cars coming this year although it would be my goal if I were going that route. In other words, it's doable if someone wants it bad enough.

You won't be the only one Matt. There are a few scary sounding turbo LS1 buildups in my neighborhood. I think FI LS1s will really start to fly next year.
- I will finally get into the 9's
- PSJ, 9-Ball, and Colonel MAY actually have cars at their own events
- Strokers will come out of the weeds with the Eagle stuff hitting the streets, so more 9-second cars for sure
The big issue for many will remain weight. Since many folks still drive their cars around (making payments), and the rules at the events require X amount of stuff on the car, weights will not drop enough to make a big difference in ET.
I'd like to see the interior, or any other weight hogging rules, removed from the requirements except for street classes. This would allow for many more 2800lb cars out there
