Default 241 heads over 853 .. worth the money ?

hi guys


i'm in the market for new heads for my camaro 2000 ss


and i'm buying 241's heads ...

am asking if they worth the money or not ?

over 853's no. they are basically the same. you can gt some used ls6's for around $400 and new ones (with small porting) for like $1100 i think. might as well port the ol' 853's if you dont wanna spend ls6 head money.

If someone gave you the heads for free it would not be worth the cost of new gaskets and head bolts to do the swap.

just go with a set of 243's or 799's(same thing). you can find them for cheap sometimes

Does nobody search anymore? get 243 or 799 castings if you want a cost effective improvement. Goin from 853 to 241, would be like pissin in a 100mph headwind!

243's are easier to find on the Corvette forums than on here FWIW.

There is ZERO differance between a 241 and 853 head. Both are LS1 Castings.

for some 2000 cars yes all 2001-2002 came with them

If your looking for crazy cheap we offer cnc ported 241s with stock valves & ported to your specs for $600!! They typically go about 280cfm-285cfm on a stock valve/bore setup.
