Default New idea(maybe) for trans cooler location

I got to thinking while i was puttin the rear bumper back on last week(CETA mod), that since alot of us have true duals that dump before the axle, that whole space where the stock muffler was would be a good place for a big trans cooler. I dont know if it would be too far from the trans or if it would even work but its just an idea. I was thinking that maybe it could be angled somewhat and you could even use the stock heat sheild to fab up some sort of airduct to direct air thru the cooler. Maybe its dumb, but im curious to hear what everyone thinks about it!

I think it would work good while the car is moving. At a standstill with no fan, i dont know how much it would help. If it does have a fan then you can pretty much mount them anywhere anyway.

it would work good but like 01ssreda4 said u would need a fan on it when ur not moving... only thing that will be a pain is trying to run the line to the transcooler...

Yea puttin a small fan on it wouldnt be a problem, but im thinkin of this setup for road racing so id be movin pretty much the whole time ( vs sittin in staging lanes at the strip). I think it would really only be beneficial if it allowed you to use a much bigger cooler than you can run up front ( like the dope mount cooler). What size coolers are most runnin?

Im running a 26K B+M. Its not very big. You could run one 4 times that size in the back of the car.
