Default computer gurus in here.

i have an old dell laptop that needs a new harddrive and memory but dell doesnt dell the harddrive but does sell the memory but its quite a bit for a little bit of memory. where can i find those parts for cheap? are they universal? lmk thanks!

what model computer? i have a ton of memory laying around. as for the harddrive, it's going to be a 2.5in, ide if it's older, and sata if it's newer.

sweet thanks guys! the memory is 30 compared to 75 to dell and i probably have to take out the harddrive to see what kind it is.

and will all the drivers and os in stuff install like normal?


its a dell 1150 isprion notebook its a heavy *** ****! lol.

Hard drives are universal in the sense that, like said above, you'll either have an IDE connection (pins) or SATA, which will be two flat connectors. Memory will vary based on the type of memory (DDR or DDR2) and the speed. And yes, newegg.com is the best place to go for the parts, hands down.

I can hook you up with a HArd-drive for like $30 for a 100g.

Let me know. And I get memory for like $10. Find out what kind you need.

Once You swap the Hard-drive your going to have to reload the OS. Then Download the drives, Thats if you dont have the recovery discs which usually nobody has.

I do this for a living, Let me know if you need anything.
