Default Spring replacement for my Dart 205's..

Im wanting to replace the springs with something that has atleast a 650 lift...
I was looking thru summit but was unclear on what would fit and what lift they are rated to. Can anyone shed some light on this, Thanks.

You can probably buy them from one of the supporting sponsors for the same money and maybe cheeper than you can from summit..plus your doing business with one of the sponsors that contribute to this forum...

PAC or PSI springs.

I believe TSP and Scoggin Dickey both stock PAC springs....dont hold me to that though.

Only reason I was going from summit is that I can use my "summit card" and get no interest, same as cash deal. Ive bought 15 -20 K from the sponsors so getting some springs thru summit, among other things, shouldnt be a big deal.

Are you currently running the PSI 1511's that came with the heads? Are you going bigger on the cam?

Yea, running with what ever came on the heads.... I have the X3 cam and if im not mistaken, it has a 610 lift on one side and this being the 3rd year I think it might be time for some new springs.

Something happend last friday when doing some WOT logging.. I have it narrowed down to the driver side. Tomorrow I should have the head off to determine exactly what happend, im leaning towards #1 piston meeting a valve....

Some suggested a collapsed lifter, could some piston to valve contact cause a lifter to craped out? The day after this happened I pulled the rockers and p-rods and those checked out good.. Nothing in the oil either.

Compression test showed this:

1 = 240 2 = 210
3 = 180 4 = 210
5 = 185 6 = 200
7 = 160 8 = 210 PSI

I did a compression test... I knew something was up on the driver side, here are all 8 cylinders.

1 = 240 2 = 210
3 = 180 4 = 210
5 = 185 6 = 200
7 = 160 8 = 210 PSI

I would either replace with the same PSI 1511 springs or for more margin change them to the PAC 1518's which will give a higher seat force. You need to verify retainer fit with the PAC's though. Sounds like you may have some other issues.

well, I guess the noise had nothing to do with the valve train... I pulled the head and found this.

Actually it very well may have been valvetrain related......If the springs were weak you could have done that with valve float.

Thats what I was thinking and was hoping it was a bent valve that was causing the noise and its an easy replacement. This is not so easy and no use and putting a stock motor back in, going forged.
