Default Another Exhaust Question

What are the pros/cons for using an X Pipe?? I was trying to decide how to route my exhaust now that I've installed the UMI Torque Arm Relocation Kit. I have 1 3/4" headers and was thinking of just putting a short piece of 3" off the headers and then putting bullets w/turn-downs. It will still dump before the axle. That would avoid routing around the TA, sounds simple but I don't see it much on here, so I'm guessing there are some performance issues???? Thanks for the advice!!

There is really nothing you can do. Try to cut the turndown as much as you can without effecting the angle. This is why most people get catbacks. Mine touchs all the time but I've got a bracket welded to the pipe right before the muffler. So the turndown just gets bent without having to worry about the rest of exhaust.

i had my exhaust like that for the longest time. Take it back and ahve mroe pipe welded onto it so that the mufflers are almost onthe the bump for the rear seats, it looks goofy, but i almost never hit my setup.

that is all 3" piping/ 3" moroso spiral flows with a 4" diameter case and gutted stock cats

gotcha kinda read over that.

i had my mufflers aimed slightly down. The bottom of my car got kinda black/tinted, but the floor was never more than warm to the touch, at least no more so than the rest of the car

Originally I had mine with no turndown and I stuck my hand under the back seat. It damn near felt like it was melting the seat so I bought a turndown just to be safe.

Right on guys! How about performance wise?? Any horsepower differences one way or the other?? Right now it sounds like if I can get it tucked up enough to give me some clearance, then I'll be good to go??? I'm headed to the dyno as soon as I get my exhaust figured out, but I have to travel quite a ways to get to the dyno so I want to make sure I have everything the way I'm going to leave it before I go.

Well I knew I'd see some HP gains from adding the LT's, I guess I was wondering if there are any differences between an X pipe and no X pipe. I've got a TSP 408 that is built for the bottle but I'll be driving it without the bottle alot also. My goal is to get the dyno tune on the car and then install a timing dial for going back and forth between spray and no spray.

With no pipe you wont have any back pressure. There wont be really an difference in performance.

my car put down 364/359 with the exhaust in the pictures/lid/410s/plugs wires and a tune.

the only reason i switched to my TD setup was to try and quiet it down a bit
