Default Power Steering Problem

okay, so i recently had my power steering return line bust a leak while driving, and pretty much drain the pump completely empty. so i fixed that and the car was fine for about a month, but now, even though the power steering pump is full of fluid, it will still whine when i accelerate from a stop, but not when i do any sharp turns or parallel parking. Also it doesnt start whining until i have been driving for about 10-15 minutes. Could it be that the Power Sterring Pump itself is crapping out?? the car only has 30,000 miles.

Also, the Power Steering Fluid looks like a milky chocolately brown color, does that mean it is mixing with coolant? or its getting burned??

any info would be helpful, thanks

Default

Sounds burnt, I'd flush at least a couple quarts of fresh fluid through it and see what that does...
