custom heat exchanger reservoir

Innovators West 10% overdriven crank pulley.. it is 8 rib, but only using it as a 6 rib for now

FIC worked LS9 injectors

10psi

562 rwhp
548 rwtq

This is still with 100% stock exhaust from manifolds to tailpipes.

old v's new graph :D

The small gain was not what we expected, but at this point the axle back might be a restriction.

We did 2010 SS today with just the same headers (stock intake and axle back ) which made 407 rwhp. This seems to be very good power for headers only, so it's odd why we seen so little.

either way it's making good power and we'll continue testing on noting gains

Yeah it's weird how throwing on some LTs on a supercharged motor only added 9 rwhp. Maybe add a cutout??

What's next on the list for this beast Larry?

Great Numbers, are you guys worried about throwing that much boost at the stock block long term?

We will keep going and documenting gains or losses.

as for the motor being pushed? We do not feel we are even near pushing the envelope on this motor so far.

Very nice. As far as pushing the engine, your right you can push much harder trust me

We will be heading out to Great Lakes Dragaway this Friday to test the new combination!

10% overdriven crank pulley
3.6 upper ( was 3.8 )
upgraded HE reservoir
new injectors
MagnaVolt boost-a-pump
Dynatech long tube headers, SLP loud-mouth 2

(Dyno'd 580+rwhp and 530rwtq)

we will also be running MT315/35R18's (26" tall) instead of the huge 28" tall M&H's we had on there from the previous runs. hopefully we'll have some decent weather!

What kind of wheels are you running the 18's on. I've heard that C5 ZO6 wheels will fit, but don't want to get anything without being sure. I have 20" Nitto Dr's on my stock wheels, but I would sure love more sidewall & hopefully less weight.

LS1 SPEED
09-16-2009, 02:51 PM
These are a C6/Z replica wheel which I believe is 9.5" wide. The tires are short and very little sidewall. We hope to benefit from the small diameter for gearing, but not lose the traction we had with the 28" M&H we used before.

No spacers needed? How is the weight compared to the stock 20's?

LS1 SPEED

very tight, but no spacers

ebrake cable needs to be secured away from the rims

Thanks for the info. I'll be ordering tonight. Have y'all started working on any turbo setups for these cars? I'm going to be ready for a turbo (T-6 flanged single) as soon as I recover from getting this, my Regal and Syclone ready for Cruisin the coast & throwing more parts at the 5th gen between CTC & the Shootout. A whole 3 days to try to squeeze more HP outta it. Also gotta find an option for a cage.

LS1 SPEED

no problem

We plan to do the turbo setup later this year when we have more time on our hands. This would be a twin kit though and we might look at a single kit as well.

shootout as in Lsx? if so I will be there ( without car ) working with a friend on his XS Mustang

You're right. Trust me, thats not near pushing it! Great #'s though:nod:

We did this with headers, cats, stock mid-section with resonators, and the valvecovers have never been off. Completely stock longblock. Pretty sure NOBODY has yet to make this kind of rwhp with stock cam, heads, and everything else on a '10 SS. Track #'s soon.....maybe axles also:lol:

What where you guys going threw at with the 28's?

We are about to put a 2300 on our shop car and was wanting to run the 305/45/18 Mickey Thompson tires.

I would think with the extra low end torque would make use of the 28's better.....

Shootout as in LSx correct. I'll be the one in the Cyber Grey, with I guess some C6Z wheels, waiting to see how yours hooks on the MT's. If your car hooks good, I'll be going with the same tires. If not I may go for a larger sidewall. I will be spraying, so hopefully the torque from the shot will over come too tall of a tire. I can't wait for gears. Twin Turbo's sounds good too. I just wanted a big single with a T6 flange, because sometime shortly after Christmas, I'll be starting on an LSx blocked stroker and would like to have a thumper in there. :) But a decent sized set of twins could and would do the trick, I am going to keep the shot on it for spooling due to being an M6.

I've already ordered the Hendrix Engineering Axles & BMR Trailing arms, will have shocks on it before the shootout also.

I would add a great set of Hendrix-Engineering axles to that BEAST! Did you ever get my axles in the mail, ordered by Gallagher?

Also I saw on Camaro 5 that the drive shaft shop is selling 1000 HP axles for about $200 more than your 1200 HP axles. Everyone needs to jump on the Hendrix Axles before the price goes up.

cool..hope to run into you guys

I think a 4.10 gear and 28" tire would rock, but with the 28" + tire we had to come out at high RPM, slip the clutch and then the car barely went through the traps in 4th gear.

it looks so funny with these little tire at stock height :)

Well the air wasn't great Friday night (high humidity). we were fighting traction all night. heel hop didn't seem to be as much of an issue with the shorter rear tires vs the 28" tall d.r.'s we ran before.

The mph shows decent improvement in the humid air, but the e.t. wasn't matching up with the mph no matter what we tried.

best two runs of the night were as follows:

me driving:

60' - 1.84
1/8 mph - 96.69
1/4 et - 11.72
1/4 mph - 122.59

Larry driving:

60' - 1.88
1/8 mph - 97.27
1/4 e.t. - 11.70
1/4 mph - 122.43

we got to the track after 2 hours of driving, paid, got through tech right away and only had a half hour cool down. that was the longest the car sat to cool the whole night. there were no super long cool downs, no icing the blower, or any of that non-sense. i even hot lapped the car a couple times as i was trying to just get a feel for the car as i had not even sat in the thing until that night. ha.

Whats the mod list on this car if you don't mind me asking?

1st post shows pics of TVS2300 and CAI with upgrades noted

+ a bit further down the addition of headers

We have added a LM2 axle back, but can't say we really gained anything other then a nice sound.

going back to the track Sunday and putting the M&H 28" tire back on and planning to hook and book :)

The car is washed and the 28" tires are back on for tomorrow. The weather looks to be good

77 and partly cloudy, so it should bring us o.k air

I'm hoping the tires will allow me to come out much harder since the short 26" did not and drop the ET. I went 1.71 with them before with little practice when we were at 518 rwhp. The added power and torque now should improve on both ends of the track.

updates tomorrow night

Terminater Cobras dont benifit from headers much either.
122 MPH seams slow for 570 rwhp. I guess these cars are just too heavy.

header wise on the Cobra..I agree and we play with those cars as well, but the NA Camaros are seeing 15 or so rwhp, so at our level we expected more.

4100# race weight heavy enough for you ;) and this is with the lighter 18" wheel on the back and about a 1/2 tank of fuel if I recall correctly.

+ as mentioned we were having very little cool down since the 60ft and having fun was more of our concern the last time out and then had the TM issue as well

We are expecting 125 mph or so at this race weight, power and lack of gearing.

I picked up the car from the shop @ 2a.m this morning which is the first time I drove it after the reflash and it feels much more crisp, but is was nice and cool as well.

We are posting results no matter what they might be, so stay tuned.
