Well guess we are only allowed to discuss products that already exist and not about what we would like in a product that has yet to be built. I personally like being involved in the R&D in order to get a product that is more what someone is looking for. I am sure the intake will still become a reality with or without support from certain individuals, hope it takes off really good for the guy. I know my spot in line for a prototype is right up at the top, everyone has to start somewhere. There are an awful lot of sponsors in the list to the right that probably done a lot of talking and asking questions well before they could afford to be on that list. Got to know what the people want

Well I put a question up at one time about possibly making a sheet metal intake.
But didn't get a very good response from it.
Seams like everyone here wants composite intakes
Everyone calls sheet metal intakes heat sinks.

I was wondering what happened to the thread also. Its kinda messed if it got deleted because it was non sponsor. It seemed like he just had the idea and was fine tuning the details to help everyone out. It wasn't even made yet so it wasn't like he was pimping it out or anything.

To me it would like going through the FI section and deleting everyones thread that is using a ebay turbo kit. Or like banning some of the well known cam gurus for offering their services and not being a sponsor.

Maybe he should bring the thread back and just say he wants advice on building a "one off" custom sheetmetal intake for street cars.

I wish i saw that thread. People get all worked up about sheet metal intake for some reason. Yes they will get hot. But wont matter at WOT. Not sure what you call cheaper. But for a real sheetmetal one they cost a **** load cause of the amount of work needed to make one right.

Are we talking about the Fibertune intakes that has a sheet metal top and bolt on runners that goes for 1400 ?

No, there was a fellow discussing making a true sheetmetal intake for $700-$800. He was gearing it more towards the street car crowd versus the normal race only folks.

Its a conspiracy, like the electric car and carburetors that get 100mpg. The people at FAST had him taken out.

Wow i cant believe you could do a sheet metal intake at that price. Just in welding time it would cost more then that.

He wasnt banned just put on restricted status as he kept spamming the board.
I would also use caution if anyone is thinking of buying from him as it has been brought to our attention that he had a lending hand in this shop called LS1 Source in North Royalton, Ohio (owned by a guy named Brain) if you are familiar with everything that went down there couple years back they ripped off quite a few people.
not sure his extent of involvement (i expect it was minimum) but i would use caution.

Also LS1tech all the time gets people thinking they can make high dollar products for less, get started and find out they can't hang and rip off a bunch of people. I can't express enough. Use caution, make sure the part is made before giving money and make sure you can retract your funds if its not shipped by using a credit card, and do it before the 30 days is up.
