Trouble with my M6 for my GTO Ok, so for a short bit this spring I had issues with my gto not going into gears.. well eventually they all started working except now 6th is busted.
My 6th gear at first had issues staying in gear. You had to really slam it into place to get it to stay in gear. Now it is basically useless.. it pops it out right away.. and then if you do get it to engage sometimes you hear a loud THUNK..
I believe I still have a warranty on this tranny.. (hopefully its still on warranty)
oh and I have an Ls7 Clutch in it..

It sounds like you definetly have issues with one or some of the components associated with the 5th/6th gear area. I would get it fixed asap before it gets worse. If it's still covered under warranty, even better.
