Default Rebuilding T-56 couple questions

Just have a couple questions. I'm rebuilding an LT1 T-56 with a Tick stage 2 kit. How far does the input shaft seal get seated into the case? Does it go all the way in or is it flush with the inside of the case? Reading the rebuild manual it states to note the orientation of the synchro assemblies. Is this the grove up or down thing or in relation to the splines on the hub to the mainshaft? The seal on the tailshaft that came with the kit is alittle different than the one that is on the housing. the new seal doesn't have a large outer "flange" that sits on the outside of the housing. The new seal just fits inside with no flange. I also read to not "mix up" the blocker rings but they all are different sizes so I don't think there is anyway to mix them up. Can someone correct me if I'm wrong. This is a first for me, I would hate to get something wrong and do this all for nothing. Thanks.

I install the seals flush personally.
