Default Pro 5.0 Shifter Stops

when setting the shifter stops on the pro 5.0, i did it yesterday, but apparently I set the 1,3,5,R stop to far forward as it wouldn't go into gear 100%

I remember you used to use a feeler gage and push the stop back a distance from the shifter...but I can't remember

any help?

I just read in GMHTP on their CT SS Camaro that the B&M shifter they Installed didn't requier them.

I run a T56 in my 87 and I took the stops out after from vibration they moved until I was stuck in gear on track ( my fault) But I played hell trying to figure it out in the paddock car jacked up tranny out. then pull the shifter boot off and

I threw them very far...............

The way I set the shifter stops it to enage the shifter into gear, turn the bolt out until its touching the shifter, and then turn it back in slightly until its no longer touching, but you can make the shifter touch the bolt if you push it forward any further.

That way you don't touch the stops in daily driving, but it you slam gears, you will hit the stop bolt.

I know my 87 gets road raced so it is not like I abuse the tranny like on the drag strip, I need to put them back in I just need to find news ones since the original ones that came with the shifter are in shifter stop heaven
