Default direct port 4 vs 2 solenoids?

looking through Nitro Dave's gallery I see 2 solenoid and 4 solenoid direct port setups such as.

what are the pros/cons to each setup? I'm looking at spraying 2 stages, 1 direct port, and 1 plate kit.

150-200 out the whole (whatever I can hook) and then another 150 as soon as possible.

Great question. I would like to know the answer also.

The only benefit I could see the 4 solenoid having is if you were spraying such a large amount that one solenoid couldn't flow, and became a bottleneck.

That is the only thing I could come up with as well... then couldn't you just run 2 bigger solenoids?, and what size shot would be a bottleneck?

hopefully the nitrous guru's chime in

originally i was thinking the 4 was for 2 stages and the 2 was for one stage but after looking closer it seems like your right it may be for large single shots. Or it could be for style maybe some people dont like the lines running across the top of the intake.

It really comes down to aesthetics....and as stated before the 4 solenoid will flow more.

But the 2 solenoid kit will still handle 400+HP

I ran the exact same 2 solenoid direct port in conjunction with Daves 90mm plate and went 8.5s

In general it would be flow wise. Think about the BBC nitrous racers that are pushing 1000+ worth of nitrous through their engines. A two solenoid setup isn't going to work for them. I have an SX2 direct port from NX. It runs 8 solenoids, a -8 feed line, and massive bottle valve with a handle on it instead of a ****.

little more on your setup if you wouldn't mind? you were running an FAST intake?

I understand if you don't want to give the spreads, but what where the Nitrous jets on each kit?

weight?

radial?

cubic inch?

heads?

I saw that in one of your threads. I though my 4 was a bit much

I'd give you the spread but I forgot. Somewhere around a 30-32 nitrous jet.

3400 lbs, 325 drag radial, 402 cube, AFR
