Default What will I lose with no reluctor wheel on a 3 channel

I bought a gm 373 7.5 locker out of an s10 off ebay(stupid) and was told it would work fine in my car. Got the thing in and finally pulled my rear cover off and noticed the big difference between the carriers is that the stock one has that big reluctor wheel whereas the s10 one doesnt. What is this wheel for? I know I will lose something, and to be honest, if it's ABS i dont care, but I wasnt sure if it corresponded to vehicle speed in some way or would throw anything off. In short, whats the use of this stupid reluctor wheel?

that reluctor is for abs only. a much bigger concern is axle spline. some s10s' have/had 26 spline axles, ours are 28 spline,no compatability at all

that I knew to check on before hand. it is a 28 spline carrier. So then with this diff I should be fine as far as everything, I just wont have ABS, right?

correct. i switched from a 2 series carrier to a 3 series and lost ABS because the reluctor locations were different. idc though car never sees anything but dry roads

As long as the S10 flange is the same diameter as the original Camaro one, then the reluctor ring could be transferred to the new carrier. It literally just taps off with a hammer, and can be pressed (hammered) back onto the new carrier. I've done it twice when I've installed aftermarket carriers.
