anyone removed the tin off the backing plates

Default anyone removed the tin off the backing plates
got my axles from Moser and the tin is badly bent.

they don't seem to do anything other than being a dust guard for the ebrake

has anyone removed theirs?

I'm not sure but i think they are slpash gaurds more the dust gaurds as to your question i dont run mine!
