Default Vortech supercharger owners.......

We have had several phone calls about the air lid that Brian produced years ago.....so I figured I would call and get a price on having them produced again.

They arent cheap, but the horsepower gains were checked on a dyno and the gains were 20rwhp and 20rwtq over the stock configuration.

Matt Merriott, if you see this, I am sorry I havent called you back but I missplaced your phone number.

The price will depend on how many orders we get.....but will be between 349.00 and 449.00 shipped.

I know this seems high, but keep in mind production on something like this isnt cheap, especially when there are such a limited number of Vortech owners out there. Its not like selling thousands of air lids for a stock configured vehicle.

Less than 20 of these units have ever been produced but demand was there at one time, and the phone has been ringing quite a bit with questions about these.

contact us if you are interested.

I was lucky enough to pick one of these up from a forum member a few months ago.

The guy who I bought my car from tested one of the first ones of these at Hypertech for you guys a few years ago. Here's a pic he recently sent me.

cool. thanks for the post and for the pic.

I got in touch with Matt Marriott and he plans on ordering 4 or 5 of these.

The more orders I get at once, the cheaper the price obviously....so if anyone is considering one, post up and let me know.

5 will get the price down to 419.00 shipped. if I can get 10 or more, the price will go down again.

Thanks

Hey Jeff,
Thanks for getting back with me, give me about a month and I will have everyone in one this deal. And have everything we need for the order. This way mean time we can get all the other Vortech people out there the oppurtunity to get in on a bulk order deal.

you can order one from me. just call 901-461-5398 or 901-461-2893

you may want to wait a bit and see how many total orders we get. the more we do at once the cheaper it will be.

I still have the original prototype lid on my car. Have had several offers to buy it... and have turned everyone down.

Brian sent me the lid in 2003 and I did 8 dyno pulls for him, swapping between the stock lid and his. IIRC it showed a solid 18 RWHP gain, and this was on an '01 SS M6 that was otherwise bone stock except for the Vortech kit and muffler delete (replaced with pipes in a D shape). I think cars with more mods than mine could gain a good bit more. I emailed the dyno graphs and printouts to Brian, but have a copy tucked away somewhere.

Don't post much in the forced induction section here, or on tech much, someone showed me this link. My question, I have a 2000 SS with a V9 G-trim. Will this lid fit that, all Vortechs? Or just the newer models.

It probably is. I recognize the coupler that was with it, black on the outside and orange on the inside.

If I remember correctly, I wasn't the only person to do testing, but Brian sent it all the way to me in Texas because I had almost no mods other than the Vortech kit and the local guys he knew had more heavily modded cars. He wanted proof of what the lid could do on an LS1 F-body that had basically the Vortech kit as the only mod.

well, I suppose its up to you guys how you do this.

If you are ready to buy right now, then just call and place the order. If you want to try to get a group together so the price goes down, thats fine too.

I will have these produced as they are paid for. Once I have payment, I can have one produced and shipped out in a matter of a few days.

Thanks.

Guys, my '01 Camaro SS put down 463 RWHP SAE and 475 RWHP STD with just the Vortech kit, ZO6 MAF, slight mod to the catback, and the Spectacle Solutions lid. No cam, no head work, stock exhaust manifolds and stock cats (!). Car has 13K miles and I have never taken the valve covers off.
