Default Thoughts about AFR 205 heads and MS4 cam

Okay after receiving a lot of good info from this website I have decided to get my heads first and then a cam and shoot for a good combination. I'm wondering what you guys think about the AFR 205's and a MS4 camshaft? I know I will lose hp down low with a cam that size but would the AFR's help remedy that? If not AFR what brand heads would u recommend with a MS4 cam?

not sure about the cam... but I can vouch for the AFR's. They really are a work of art. You won't be dissapointed

with a FAST combo on top, itll defintely make some graet power for sure, but id still recommned a custom cam. AFR,TFS, PRC, for most its a matter of personal preference. theyll all big big $$ heads but produce big numbers as well. mill the heads down and/or use a cosmetic gasket to gain some compression and itll make the MS4 more liveable, if you do go that route.

Custom grind is what i have learned recently..... Some cams like a 228 cam will be nearly perfect for the heads without too much work.

Is your car a 6 speed or auto? If auto what stall and gear and what gear if 6 speed? What bolt-ons mods do you have now and planned? This info will help us better recommend you a camshaft that fits your needs! Let us know if we can help

How are you going to drive the car? If its a street cruiser with stock gears, that cam may not be the best match. There are smaller cams that will allow you to bump compression and provide a strong mid-range torque curve that can be a lot of fun on the street. A full out track car would be a different matter.

The car will be driven 90% on the street, NOT a dd....driven 10 days a month. It has stock gears FOR NOW.....

That is a missmatched combo if you ask me. MS3 would be better and I still prefer G5X3 on the AFR/big cam combos. If it were me this is what i would put in:

232/236 .595/.578 111+2 LSA with a 62cc chamber mill.
