Default Ordered mine today - 7 month wait

Ordered my 2010 RS/SS today. One dealer who wanted $2500 over sticker told me 12 week delivery. Dealer I ordered from says about 7 month wait and told me no one could get it faster (unless it was already on its way).BTW paid sticker.

Based on the rate they are building these cars, I would be surprised if it took more than about 3 months. They are building about 10,000 cars a month.

Yeah, there is no way they are back-ordered that far. It probably just them trying to make certain you get your car AHEAD of schedule. Either way, congratulations and good luck with the delivery time.

Rumor has it GM stopped production of the V8 models, said they needed to push the V6's more. Something about selling to many V8 models?

Thats what my friend at Friendly Chevrolet in Dallas told.

my cousin just got her 2010 RS V6 on monday. she had to order it twice, because the first dealership went under. took 5 months to get her car. hopefully you won't have to wait that long.

At least the wait is during the long cold winter. Don't drive my rods much then. Plus gives me time to sell my 02.

They reduced production of the SS based on supplier constraints. They said it was due to a foreign manufacturer (a big brand name) unable to keep up. They can only work so much overtime by law in the country these parts are produced. I am almost positive it is Brembo, which would only affect the SS.

You may want to call that dealer you ordered from and ask if he has an actual allocation to place an order for a Camaro. Dealerships only get X amount of allocation slots, based on their sales volume. I can't see waiting 7 months, it should be more like 3 months. Unless that dealer is waiting for another allocation to open up.

I thought they were going to "flood the market" and produce so many that anyone could pick one up? I see a lot of new maros around town, some park so far out in the parking lot you'd think it was a bugatti lol. And the SS/L99 I saw today just pulled right up next to the soccer mom van next to him.

I'm waiting for the price drop then I may have to own one! Traded my 02' on the mustang and have to say... I LOVE my S197 but drooled so long over the L99/auto today I thought security may come hassle me lol.

I ordered mine last month and was told october or nov, but then i found the exact car i ordered that a guy had backed out on, the dealership listed it on craigslist, it is scheduled to arrive 09/09. You need to check around with dealerships for people who back out.

I have the GM OrderWORKBENCH sheet with the preliminary order number. I've been told this like a tracking number. Anyone know about this and how to use it?

If I paid 30k for a brand new car your damn right I would park as far away as poosible. I park my vette away even though a new civic is worth more. I don't know about you but I don't like door dings and such on my car.

GM doesn't have an online tracking system, but some people I know have been able to track through the guys at Camaro5.

Try their tracking instructions: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31614

And congrats!!

You got it! I think you should end up getting your car earlier than 7 months. Hope so at least, that's a long time to wait

Yes and no. They are limiting production of the V8 because demand for the V6 is really high right now and cash for clunkers knocked down the supply of 6's. Around me a I see a lot of V8's in dealerships but almost no V6's.
