I just replaced my torque arm bushing and trans bushing, my car is a 98 with 63,000 miles. My shifter was jumping up when I accelerated so I replaced both. Now I feel some vibration, is this because everthing is so tight? When I hit the gas it does feel alot better with quicker throttle response because there is no flexing up and down with the arm. I did set a jack under the transmission so nothing changed. Is this normal?

If you used ES poly you made a mistake and it won't get any better. Prothane makes a MUCH better poly tranny mount.

That sounds like a poly mount. Poly is much harder than rubber, so that's why you feel the vibration. After a while, you will get used to it.

Sorry, but not true.
With the ES poly trans mount if you grind the 2 preload bumps flat, there's very little vibration at all. And as far as Prothane making a better trans mount, I really can't say since I've had a ES trans mount on my car for over +6 years with no problems.

Thanks guys seems to be better now after a few drives, I think it was just to tight and needed to be broken in. But ya the stock rubber was a lot softer and dry rotting.

My experience with ES has been horrible. To the point of the mount breaking completely (picture) and then after I replaced it with another the next one was so stiff and harsh I couldn't do it. Hell it might as well have been solid! Prothane was 100% improvement over the ES.

I have poly trans mount and had alot vibration at first but feels better now that its broken in more.

Both the torque arm and trans mount bushings are poly red energy suspension. What does (ES) mean?

ES=Energy Suspension.
