Default yank 3600 VS 4000

ok im just looking for personal experiences here. I have a bolt on LS1, with stock 3.23. going to order a stall here soon. Was wondering what you guys recommended. It will be street driven but quite a few track passes also, about a 50/50 mix. I dont want to be out of my poweband with a 4000 but want to most out of a converter. What you guys think?

SS4000....even if you plan to spray. Many have sprayed it with great results. It's a great street/strip converter even with 3.23's....it's surprisingly tight for its stall speed. Fun converter that leaves you open for lots of future mods!

yeah i had a buddy that went form a 4400 yank to a 3600 and dropped his et by 2 tenths. he has 3.73 and said traction was a issue with the 4400 and et streets. Thats why im thinking a ss4000 with a 2.6 str and 3.23 will be a good combo!!

I just put a pt4000 in and went 1.59 60ft. with 17s up front and 16inch mt drag radials in the back with Konis no less. It also drives great on the street.

Personally you can go by what experiences guys have had here. However talking directly with Dave is a great idea. The guy knows his stuff and I think he will not point you in the wrong direction. I know he has some other converters that might be even better for your combo. He hooked us up with one for JR's vet and at first I was skeptical. However it did what he said it would do on the track. Give Dave at Yank a call. Vince B

The SS4000 will probably be a better choice for you. Tighter "feel" for daily driving and similar track results as the PT4000, but will like the spray better if you ever want to go that route.
