Default Mickey Thompson Drag Radial Tire Pressure Poll

Wanted to get some info of what pressure is working best on an average in these. I have tried all different pressures and can't get the results I want. With slicks it was so much easier!

I'm running MT ET Street DR's on my datsun puny little 235/60/15's and run them 17-19psi but i've only raced on them a few times honestly and my 60' are near as good as yours.
i cut a 1.77 as my best but the ET was 11.77 @119.9X

What size tire are you asking about. Different sizes will need different pressures.

You will see some variance by tires size as mentioned above. And, from different tire guages. I voted 14-16 psi, that is what my car likes. I run 275/60-15's on 15X8 Weld Pro Stars. My car has gone a best of a 1.504 sixty foot. 1.51 - 1.53 is average for my car. It weighs 3540 lbs w/o a driver, I'm sure vehicle weight has an effect too.

What's your suspension setup to go 1.29?

26" tall on 10" rims. I think they are 255/50-15's for me.

I'm in a pickle. I have the adjustable TA that come with my MWC 9" set at -3. I have a UMI adjustable PHB and UMI lowers in the back with Bilstein shocks and BMR 1" lowering springs. Today I pulled the front sway-bar out which made a decent difference in front transfer. I have 1" BMR springs in front and Bilstein shocks. I didn't care for the 4x4 look so it needs to stay lowered. Question is what can I do to get dead hook? I have a ton on tap right out of the hole. If I could get it all to the ground launching hard it will go 1.50's pretty easy I think. I should be able to get 11.7's bolt-ons but need that hook! And don't know what to try next

I voted for two, 14-16 and 17-19. I normally run mine on 15-16psi, thats with 275/40/17 Mt drag radials with a best 60ft of 1.57. My mt drag radials 275/60/15 seem to like 17-18psi, best 60ft of 1.58. I was only able to test the 275/60 out once; rear, trans and converter broke that day............I'm sure I could have got a little better 60ft with them.

The guys I know that are going fast on the 275/60/15 are running around 19.

Get into the 295 and they like around 16, 315/60 like about 14, 325/50 are about 18, not sure on the other suzes, as these are the ones that are on race cars I know of first hand.

19 lbs on a 275 for us = smoke.

15.5 lbs running 5.0's at 150 mph so far, 3580 lb car...I guess each car likes it different.

Less rolling resistance, better times. Sometimes when you spin, people assume to drop the pressure. You may already be too low and cupping a radial tire (not the same as a slick), so sometimes making 2 or more runs at a certain pressure is needed to verify the results (not being in the groove, too small or too big burnout, etc).

i use to run 16psi in them then i tried going as high as possible and 18psi seemed to be the optimum pressure. 20psi worked well until the track got real cold later in the night. so now i run 18psi

275/50/15 on 15x10 prostars in my bolt on only LT1 best 60" 1.68
